Just a headsup to anyone out there that may be interested. Beware of Silver Circle. They like to set up PU raids, go most of the way though with pug, then intentionally kill raid, only to come back later same day and clear....

This has happened in the past in previous raids, did not know this till after the fact they did it again.

We were in Chamber of Destiny. Going for a Levi kill. After the last mob, the raid leader Arlathien just stops playing. A few minutes later his guildmate says he texted another guildie who called him who says, "He has a BSOD (blue sceen of death) and cant play." We try Levi, suddenly nother silver circle supposed to be first in (fish skin) to get potions....doesn't use his fishskin and raid wipes (wipe 1). We go back to same spot, same thing (wipe 2). After some complaining from others we reshuffle and I go inside first (I actually got inside but.....), I get one mob down bout to loot potion....raid wipe. What happened? Someone decided to AOE the mob while reflection was up despite the fact it was called out that it was up. I checked the combat log and guess what? Silver Circle...Later on, I am researching BSOD and eq2 still leaving the player in game 30-60 minutes after the fact that this BSOD allegedly happened. There is NO WAY that a player can remain in the game world if the comp is locked up with a BSOD. NONE. Physically, and hardwarelly impossible. The network adapter will not transmit in a windows locked up state. So simply, had that actually happened. He would have went LD within moments. Hate liars.

This is not the first time this guild has done this from what I've read and heard from others. This is one shitty way to get content cleared imo.

I was just about to quit PuR altogether then I found out about their past. This is just wrong.

So, lets level the field I say. If this guild or this guy or Tryten ask for people for raids. JOIN IT, THEN INTENTIONALLY WIPE IT. They DESERVE IT!

Was my first time at Levi, was going to go to VP next weekend and get my myth. Plans fucked in the ass by some greedy guild named Silver Circle. Ah well. Guess having a bad rep is their goal in game.

A guild put together a PUR just to kill the few Fishmen in there to clear the path to Levi? Now that's comical!

The thing is, it wouldn't be worth SC's while to gather up a PUR and then sabotage it - if they came back later with half a raid's worth of just SC people they wouldn't put out enough damage to take down Levi within his 15 minute timer.

If you'd ever finished this encounter and been able to see how it works you probably wouldn't have made this rant. I'm guessing your PUR was most likely killed by a combination of stupidity, lack of communication concerning who does what/when, and not using/not having enough Cure Nox potions.

I'm not going to comment on the BSOD but I will say that I've seen 2 copies of the same exact character ingame at the same time, one real and one a "ghost" copy. Isn't that softwarelly and hardwarelly impossible too?

I bet when I go in there today Levi is gone. We all had nox potions (x100), 5 of us had fish skins, out of 5 I was the only one to ever make it inside.

To address the last part. Its a ghost because of latency issues on the server. BUT....in this case the guy never dropped. Never. Server lag could have same toon in two spots, but would not leave a corpse sitting in an instance all by his lonesome. Secondly, I do question that statement because the login server is what controls your login to the server. It usually will not allow a toon to log in multiple times, you will normally get a msg to the effect that this character is already in the game world. Which means the server hasn't completely logged you out before you tried to log back in. On some rare occassions (usually during server instability) the login servers say one thing while the game server shows you in game...This is network latency at SoE between the server clusters. Now, I am gonna tell ya firsthand. A BSOD will not leave you in the game world. It will lock your nic up, and it wont transmit nor receive data. And that means SoE will drop you as a lost connection (linkdead). Furthermore there were no server crashes on sunday. None. There was no instability sunday. None. Stop defending them already. You sound like a fan boi.

I also again refer you to research this guilds actions over the past few weeks. They pulled this same exact thing a few weeks ago in a different t8 raid. Cept in that one they kept having their assassin direct atk the mob and draw agro and wipe the raid (numerous times till everyone not in silver circle quit it).

And for the record, we were on the farming potions part. And 15 minute timer to take him down....he is killed with potions. Least thats the strat I know of.

Either way, in the end, all that matters is this guild has bad raid leaders and some questionable ethics.

if you re-rolled a useful class and actually parsed though stealth, you wouldn't have a problem getting into good raids, raids need more dirges/illusionists/coercers, get to it!

Seriously. You are that lame to join a pickup raid to leach a update or flag yourself for vp, and actually have the nerve to insult them if it doesnt work? A pickup raid isnt a planned perfect raid. Its like the lotto. Your chances of winning arnt great. Everyone was telling you this in open channel. Get over it, if you want a update that bad actuallly work your way into a raiding guild and earn it instead of getting pur freebies

Levi doesn't seem like the type of mob that this tactic would be worth it to use. There's not that much trash, and wasting skins on people probably isn't the greatest idea either.

AoEing the mob doesn't seem real smart though either, whether reflection is up or not.

What would be the point in wasting time with a failed pur just so they could go kill levi by themselves later? I mean shit, there is only half a dozen or so trash mobs in the zone, they spent more time dealing with all the random tards like yourself that didn't know wtf was going on than they would have with a full raid of experianced people.

BTW, the servers fuck up sometimes and don't dc a toon that goes ld. a week ago I spent 8 hours waiting for my toon to get kicked so I could log back in while arguing with the gm's on my second account to get them to do it.

Wish we could give negative stars for lack of proof of anythingn other than a failed PUR. You should be glad that they even gave you a shot at all considering your reputation.

I agree. They take people into a raid to try to get updates for them and theres still always some idiot who feels like if they dont get what THEY want, Its the guilds fault that started the raid. Dont mind the fact you were let in with no real reason besides the guild was being nice. CURSE YOU NICE GUILDS EVEN IF THINGS DONT GO PERFECT. I personaly blame the ranger. its ALWAYS the rangers fault =3
