It must have been good if people are still talking about it, however.
Just curious about the story and history behind this.

Correction: Myrmidons
Anyhow. Like it was stated Myrmidons got a contested kill and shouted Myrmidons #1. Some Dissolution were in zone and recieved tells asking how does it feel and some other junk. There are screen shots floating around somewhere.
The next morning I was with Ishbu, Mag and a few others and for some unknown reason to me Magank typed out Myrmidons #1 in shout after we zoned in. Immediately someone replied FUCK YOU CONVICTION!!! We laughed for atleast 5 hours over that.
Then Mag pelted the 60_69 channel, it was the most hilarious shit I had read in a long time. After he logged I decided to keep it up, anything and everything got melded into Myrmidons #1 for some reason or another. I'll honestly say that it was never my intent to get that guild disbanded. The Myrmidons #1 saying was really catchy as hell.
People really started getting pissed off at anyone who said Myrimdons #1. I learned an important point during the first phase of all of that. The word IGGY, people who use the ignore function in EQ2 have labeled said action to being "put on teh IGGY." Most of them felt compelled to announce that they were placing so and so (usually Kurizobo) on Iggy. Funny as hell.
It was fun here and there, win some loot and link it into the 60_69 channel and then say Myrmidons #1. Or (my favorite) say things like, There was this movie with Brad Pitt and he had a team of really tough guys who wanted to be like the Everquest guild so they called themselves Myrmidons, etc etc.
Another favorite was something like this:
Kurizobo says: hey everyone, I'm not banned yet! Myrmidons #1
random fag: Kurizobo #1 idiot
Kurizobo says: random fag #2
Now you probably don't think that's really funny, me neither. But it would really get people spinning. Infact, I think that's where Kuribozo came from, which I think is funny as hell. Anyways you probably get the drift but adding people to the number list seemed to make them really pissed off!
This is where reviverish was born, where he got fukmad. Fukmad turned into #2 and Reviverish was usually the next favorite pass time when everyone else was ignoring Myrmidons #1. But I digress.
After a while, their guild leader sent me a tell. She ordered me to stop saying Myrmidons #1 and that I would be reported. I couldn't understand how positive press was making her upset.
I made something up about if she reprimanded the person who started all of this publicly then I would back off. The guild leader said that the guild supports that person 100% and in my mind I felt that in turn supported me supporting the saying
She took it to the forums, and got slammed for personal threats. I decided off that to look up their guild roster which is where I noticed that her and some other player were in the rank of Snugglepuss or something like that.
So I started asking in the 60_69 channel why such and such player who is rank Snugglepuss is sending me hate tells and (supposedly) reporting me. One thing led to another and I guess I did get carried away when I asked if Snugglepuss was like the guild whore or something.
THAT made her fiancee mad, who sent me a tell. I thought the guy (or girl) was really nice to be honest. They made it very clear what the rank meant and that I should stop saying that the guild leader was a dirty whore. To which I replied no problem.
In my opinion that was when Myrmidons #1 was just a funny thing to say. To my dismay that's when things really started changing in the guild.
What was really going on was everyone on the server thought Myrmidons were tooting their own horn. I guess players went out of their way to train them, send them hate tells and the like. People started quitting.
And then they transferred to a PvP server.
The end.
