Malkonis D'morte in gates
I wasn't around for T6 days and the people with me were slightly confused too. We were bored and one grouping T6 stuff so we went to gates. For the last fight we killed malkonis d'morte as a lvl 69 4x. Then we got disco on some lvl 58 piece of gear. /shrug

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
depending on your server i m sure you can still get discovery of Djinn master prism, and at a lesser level in pedestal of sky.

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
Plus the fact server discos were reset after T6 was end-game... I think around the time of server merges? Then afterwards, no one really bothers to do a lot of those zones. Most PvE servers spawn Ahkmun Rhoen instead of Malkonis, as well, I would say (ungodly drop rates ).

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
I was just wondering where he came from. Must have been a newly added mob as I don't see people taking out a lvl 69 4x epic with a level cap of 60 (or maybe!), in t6. We all assumed we would get disco when we found the mob...but were just baffled by wtf he was doing in Gates. Or was it an old overleveled mob thrown into the instance, like bugaboo is a lvl 80 epic, despite the current level cap when he was released. Someone just told me he was a rare spawn, just wondered background info..since I couldn't even find a loot table for Malkonis from Gates.

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
You have to fuck around with some items in the zone and then the actual final boss spawns instead of Malkonis. I think he actual got beaten in T6, the game mechanics used to allow more cheese, but I wasn't really paying attention then so I might be wrong hehe.

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
From a lore vantage point it makes sence that he shows up in some way in gates, he visted the ancient city and held a blood cult there. He would lure citizens of the city into his home and, well eat them. He was permited to stay despite this only because (as far as i know) he either helped rebuild or brought back the ewer of sul'dae back to the city.
(ya i know im a geek)
I'm guessing that he was ment to be unbeatable in t6 times and then he would gain a few levels as he moved into the league's hideout, where he would finally be destined to die by adventureres???

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
The whole storyline is the way the D'Mortes became vampires in the first place is by using the Ewer of Sul'dae. The people in Neriak decided to boot out the vampires and Malkonis took the ewer with him to Ahket'Aken, a secret cult city under the Elddar Forest where they worshipped the goddess of darkness, Anashti Sul. The ewer was a sacred relic for them so they let him chill out, score with the hot nubile young elven priestesses and bite them in the neck, all that shit.
Then Sol Ro burned down the forest, it became the Desert of Ro, and the head priestess had all the people in the city drink from the Fyr'un, which is that green glowy stream of water that originates from the Ewer in the Godking's pad. Thus they all became ebil mummies and spend their undead days unliving under the desert in the Living Tombs. Malkonis is still chilling out there when you do the Peacock quests and stuff. The Gates instance is supposed to represent a raid by Mistmoore on the city, probably looking for the ewer.
And ya I'm a big nerd too :P

Re: Malkonis D'morte in gates
Usually if you follow the right script in gates, you end up climbing the wall hailing Malkonis, who then despawns and Ahk'Mun Rhoen spawns ... he is the one u use the symbol on which u craft in the previous court!
It is also where you "screw up" the script, by not deactivating all orbs! Which will then cause Malkonis to get active as an epic! If I'm not mistaken, back in the T6 days this meant game over if you had Malkonis active as it was unlikely to beat him with the stun and stuff...
