Forsaken City Ring Event?

So I've been spending a fair amount of time in Forsaken City lately killing Empowered Xuun'vok The Death Reveler trying to get that elusive orb. Regardless, I noticed last night when you kill the ghosts in the rooms right next to where the 2x spawns, you get a message says something to the effect of releasing a spirit has an effect on the orb of necromantic energy.

Despite a good amount of searching, I can't seem to find anything as to what this might be doing. Anyone have any ideas?

I guessed that if you cleared both rooms the orbs of necromantic energy might drop and the epic might do something but with my duo I was unable to clear the 30+ mobs fast enough.

TBH, the orb dont do anything when you fight him really, you can even pull him to the entrance. I'd suggest you to dont bother with that.

We have no problems at all killing him -- it's more of a curiosity thing.

A little more evidence that something can (or was possible at some point), searching for "Xuun'vok the Death Reveler" on EQ2LL - Everquest2 LLink Logger yields results for both "Empowered Xuun'vok the Death Reveler" (item 1 to 104) and "Xuun'vok the Death Reveler" (items 105 to 109).

Get your tank to stand on the mouth of the platform that snake chick sits on. He aggro's, jumps down to entrence, tanks it against the wall, pwn her and cross fingers for the orb.

Heh i've always just fought her against the door on the little platform she's on. You can corner yourself on the big vase's that are there for the knockback.

If you kill enough ghosts or w/e from each side, the orbs die, and she becomes no longer empowered (Name changes). When we did this, I noticed nothing really different, and I don't think it effected the loot table.

It probibly disables one off her abilities, or the orbs perhaps do something if you are too close to them, either way, it didn't really make an impact.

Try the loping plains mouthpeice tower ring event.

I kept on meaning to do that one lol. I was going to get a damn group of peeps for it but I don't think I could hold their interests lol

What does that ring event do anyway, i have a mouthpiece for like 8 months now...
