    Think that power drain still is usefull at first named in maiden.

    the patch notes stat that the teleport of the first named doesnt use power any more. This doesnt mean that the massif dmg debuff doent need power any more.

    The fact that his powerpool gets smaller sugjest that powerdrain is still of use.

    so if you ask me the new tactic for the first named of maiden will be:

    -powerdrain to 0% without getting him below 75% hp (draining will go quicker now)
    -kill him while you get ported every 25% but no dmg debuff on port

    oh this is already been said (only read the post above mine :P)

    I guess I don't get it. There are only two mobs in that zone that give us moderate trouble... Sandstorm and Drusella. All the others are just free chests if done correctly. If you can bring 5-6k group dps in this zone (which is very easy to do imo) none of these mobs should be an issue whatsoever.

    For the first named, our strat is...
    1) Hit him until he teleports
    2) When teleported, tank jumps west, rest of group jumps east off platform
    3) Don't be a retard with the aoe.
    4) Group meets in the corner and hits him some more
    5) Rinse / Repeat

    I promise you it really is that simple. Fight takes 45 sec. tops, 15 of which is running to the corner.

    You know, I just loved being asked to come to Maiden's the other night by a pickup group, and asked to mez and power drain that guy. Wow. There are people in my own guild who don't want to use mez, even in a situation where it's necessary for success. So, yeah, I'm unhappy about the change.

    As for the "follow the script" types, eat me. Some abilities take power, some don't. Why is that hard to understand?

    For a full group of your hand picked highly skilled level 80 friends with fabled gear, yeah, it's probably easy. I'm all about mission success. If there's another way to do things that works, then we'll do that.

    But it sucks to have abilities that are powerful and effective, and to have both other players AND the game designers tell you "NO, you can't use that, it's not in the SCRIPT!!!!" Have a 3000-year-old bucket of STFU.

    (Hey, I kinda like this whole "flames" thing)
