Nek 3 (HELP!)

Ok, I need some serious help in getting through this.

The other night we had:

70 - Warden (me)
70 - Zerker (hubby)
70 - Pally (guildie)
70 - Illusionist (guildie)
70 - Inquisitor (guildie)
68 - Coercer (friend)

Now, we're all decently geared. Nothing extremely uber like the raiding guild have. Most of us have all of our AA's.

This zone owned us...hard. We knew enough not to touch the shinies as guildies have given us horror stories about the traps and shit.

Is there some special trick to getting through this zone, that I don't know about? The mobs seem to have an obscene amount of HP's for its level.

Any and all help getting through this zone is appreciated.

You should be able to plow through the zone with that setup. No idea what to tell you. I've done it with 4ppl and 1 healer with relative ease.

What was the issue exactly? Tank gets owned? Adds? People getting lost?

You have no real dps in that group. And two chanters is not going to benefit you in any way except to have their buffs clash against each other (only one form of mana regen will be up). I would switch out the coercer or illusy for a swashy or brigand (the group invis is helpful as well to skip large chunks of traps and annoying stuff that just takes up time) and the pally for another dps, mage or scout, doesn't matter.

Have the coercer charm a box, that's all the dps you need.

You don't reach the boxes until 3/4 through the zone. And i never get to charm them anymore cuz they don't see invis

So we invis past them hehe

OP isn't asking what classes to replace. Even with no hardcore dps in there they shouldn't have any issues.

I guess it's that we're not used to having Blue ^^^ take so long to take down. We were getting overwhelmed very quickly.

The traps seem to take us by surprise. The one huge block that drops in front of the door, that makes you short...wasn't fun. And the traps that trigger trauma that I can't cure, that wasn't cool, either.

Can you invis past those traps or will they trigger every time?

I think we'll have the Coercer switch out with a Dirge and try it that way. Since this is our first real time through the zone, mezzing might be the way to go until we get a feel for the area and begin to know the traps. (other than shinies)

We got all the way to the dolls part before we were creamed. But even then, we were struggling to keep our heads above water. I was told that if you have infravision (which I do, being a wood elf) that you can see which dolls to pick up and place on the bed.

Hehe, you don't need infravision. You move the ones that aren't moving. The Coercer is a lot better than having a Dirge. Charming those boxes like I said makes the rest of the zone ez-mode they randomly go off for like 30k dps.

Go near the dolls. If they move/twitch leave them alone. Only move the ones that stay still.

If you can swtich out some classes, then it would be a little easier like Elanie/Niber mentioned.

One suggestion is to max your Gamma in the display settings. This should help you see a lot better in there.

You'll get used to the traps etc. once you get a feel for the zone, they're not that big of a deal.

And, OMG, the making you short part is awesome, I fkn love that. :D How can you say it's not fun???
