Default Re: The Fate of Norrath Quest

You know, couple ways to look at that.

Sure, 12 months of farm status sounds bad. Of course, going into an absolute freaking sprint, playing for days without sleep, so you can immediately start raiding, blowing through the zones, and then saying, "Dang, we did that too fast....this expansion sucks", sounds pretty starnge to me.

Exactly how much content are you hoping for....20hrs, 200hrs, 2000hrs, 2.3 million hrs?

I know I've played what I consider to be pretty hardcore, about 4 hrs a day since the expansion came out. I've been doing all the quests as I go, and I 80% of the way through level 74, and have 113 AA's or so. I'd expect I will be at level 80 in about 3 more weeks, looking at another 90 hours of playtime for that. The AA's won't top out til longer, but will likely come from the new instances and raids reasonably soon after.

Then, considering how the flagging goes, it will be unlikely to raid tier2 for quite awhile, since it will entail likely many different raids to flag various people as we go. Then, the same thing, only more pronounced for tier3. Then, same thing, only more pronounced for tier4.

I can certainly envision it will take a long time for me to be able to raid tier4.

Now, there are hardcore guilds, and they want to be first. Sure, I understand that. That's cool, they have playtimes and committments I cannot match. But, if you do blow through everything fast, and you are absolutely trying to sprint through the entire expansion, when you are done, it seems pretty odd to complain you got done too fast.

I read books, and dealing with the train everyday, I tend to read 4-5 books a week. However, after reading a book, or even staying up late to finish one, I don't complain once I am done that the book is now on reread status 24 hours after it was released.

Much easier in comparison to previous expansions tbh.

(raidwise at least)

Tbh, i have to agree it's too easy. We have raided Tier one yesterday for the first time. Yes we wiped a few times but the first time you do a new raidzone in a new expansion you should wipe and wipe allover until you figure out the strats and have at least 24 members at lvl80

Now all we had to do is try three mobs more then once and we were done. Now we're waiting for the rest of our members to hit lvl80 so we can do Tier2 raids.

Having only 18 members at lvl 80 and all our members mostly in old eof fabled should have given us a hard time to finish these zones. Now we were done 2 houres early and we cleared entire T1.

Compared to how it used to be in previous expansions this is waaaayyy too easy.

Fyi, we're a raiding guild but not a hardcore hardcore raiding guild.

I don't even know how to respond to this since it means nothing.

For everyone here who've been posting about how "easy" the raiding zones MUST be since there's already at least two guilds at T4, remember, at least one of those guilds spent a month or two working those encounters in beta. That essentially translates into the fast track.

So before everyone screams that this stuff needs it's difficulty increased or we're doomed remember that not everyone has had early access to said content. Only when the non-privilaged have a shot will we know whether the content really needs tweaked or if it's just a matter of the illusion of gimp content.

My guild had a group or less in beta. Experienced very little if any at all raiding content and we made it into VP at the same time as the other guild that you referenced. Since then atleast three other guilds have made it into VP.

I'm telling you - it's too easy.

So what's the solution? Allow certain guilds free reign until they can figure out what to do?

I agree this stuff should be hard as hell. It should be EQ new raid zone hard all over again. It should take months to progress, but that's just not going to happen and we know it.

So imo it's live with it or shut down the zones until it's fixed. I'd rather they take a month and fix the zones past say the first tier. Sure it sucks, but it should be a level playing field across the board.
