Re: The Fate of Norrath Quest
LOL - Make up your mind. You say on the one hand that "Ooh, these zones are so easy, SOE your so crap because you dont challenge us" then on the other hand you say that even the easiest zones are harder than EOF zones were on release.
I am forming my opinions of these zones based on feedback from you guys. If you say it is piss easy I think of labs. If you say mildy challenging I think of FTH. The truth being told, you guys went in there and figured out these mobs really fast because you are really good at what you do. Then you turn around and whine that it was sooo easy to make yourselves look more UBER among each other. It is only when someone reads back to you what you are saying that you turn around and realise what you are saying.
So, in light of recent confessions, maybe SOE didn't mess it up so much. Just you guys are are way to clever for them - Grats for that - Just try to remember that if you lie and say something is easy when in actual fact you just made it look easy then people may make mistakes when they form opinions based on those reports.

Yes, NPU killed it exactly 14 days after release. Another thing you guys aren't considering is most of these encounters (especially the bosses of T2 and T3) are heavily scripted. Once you know the script its just a matter of execution. So once a guild kills it if a leak happens everyone will start killing it first pull because they'll have the info required going into the fight. That's the Catch-22 with scripted encounters. They're cool and all... the first time.
Also to the people comparing Overking to "the cross between an Avatar and The Matron" and complaining he is easy - sure he is easy to upper echelon guilds who had avatars/matron on farm, but how do you think the encounter will be for the numerous guilds who didn't? Probably hard. If they designed the lower tiers to be ultra difficult for the 12 guilds gamewide who killed avatars they'd be almost impossible for all the other raiders, and then they'd be a waste of resources to make because almost no one would utilize them. Some of you guys need to open your eyes and realize how much of a minority we are and be thankful we get anything at all. This game doesn't generate WoW money and can't throw dev time and money at content hardly any players will utilize, they don't have that luxury.
Also that Tier "wishlist" up there is nice and all, but it would've taken as much time to implement as it took to do RoK as a whole. Two EH size zones for T3 with unique encounters and then a massive ultra hardcore zone after that, not to mention 9 or whatever MMIS size zones. Yeah, not gonna happen.
Coming from EoF, where we had CWM (cleared first time in), FTH (cleared first time in), MMIS (cleared except boss first time in) and EH (to second floor first time in, stopped by LAG at Gardener), PHH (hahahahahaha) and Contested Mayong (same encounter just outside of an instance) and the avatars I don't see why everyone is bitching about having more raid content.
After a couple weeks of EoF CWM/FTH/MMIS were all but a fucking joke. EH took a little longer to clear and PHH was a loot pinata contested if there ever was one.
At least in this expansion we get six zones to farm for loot/plat, a nice sized, cool (so far) zone in VP and supposedly the hardest encounter to ever grace EQ2 in Trakanon. Not to mention a contested ape who isn't a pussy like PHH was (nor a copy of an instanced boss), the avatars and wtf ever those Dominous guys are for.
To me, as a raider, even with the standard SOE fuckups (itemization, ease of raids for guilds like mine) - we're still better off than we have been for, oh I dunno, almost any other expansion.
I realize its cool to fall in line and bitch and be discontent about everything because I'm a hardcore raider, but jesus.

Meh, thought it was longer, but anyways, there was no levelling needed for The Fallen Dynasty adv. pack!
Truth be told, t1, 2 and 3 are easy for guilds that had Avatars/Mayong on farm. Rest will and are struggling.

Imo is tier2 not easy at all, and I doubt casual guilds will clear them here in the near future. Fx. venril is a 100% disiplin fight, if one in the raid fucks up, everybody is dead. And I can tell you it took us alot of pulls to get him down. And like Gaige said, its helping you alot to have had avatars on farm status on theise kind of encounters.
But t3 was surely gimp compared t2, and its prolly bugged I guess, but who knows.
I am really looking foward to VP, and see how long time it will take guilds to clear that

Shouldn't they be?
If T1/2/3 were difficult and took avatar guilds a couple weeks to clear, they'd probably be impossible for oh, everyone else and then what is the point.
Avatar guilds should be spending the majority of their time in VP anyway. Gearing up with the good loot to take on Trakanon, gearing up from him to take on Tangrin, gearing up from that to kill the avatars and put them on farm status.
I don't understand why T1~T3 being easy for an avatar guild is even remotely a problem. They obviously weren't designed with the hardcore raider in mind. They are mere farm zones that are a minor roadblock on the way to VP, which is where the real hardcore content should begin. (If VP is too easy or the loot is lackluster, by all means complain).
The idea should be to get more players interested in raiding, and this new progression helps that a lot. The more players are interested, the more players will raid, the more players will become skilled at raiding and the more hope hardcore raiders have that content designed for us will be made in more abundance because there will be more of us to satisfy.
I still don't understand the complaints about T1 ~ T3, honestly.

Re: The Fate of Norrath Quest
Yay - We finally get to the truth. The way things were before you were making it out like if a guild didn't clear the zone in their first night in then they suck. At least now you admit that there is a challenge and it is only east for Avatar geared players. Mission Accomplished

I don't think it's a problem in terms that it's too easy, I think it's more of a problem because people are scared that T4 will be cleared quickly just like the other tiers and all the instanced stuff will be done in a month.
If T4 is indeed very difficult and gives top guilds major problems, which I sure hope it does, then I think everything will be fine.
I also think somewhere down the line they need to put in another T4 or mega hard zone in for when people start clearing avatars to further push back the entire-expansion-on-farm-status phase even more.

Re: The Fate of Norrath Quest
Shard of Hate is incoming, and I assume it will be T4 (since the heroic shard was supposed to be hard for heroic content). Should be fairly big too, if Shard of Fear is any clue.
