It's only unreliable if it's a bard immunity which cancels on the group when the bard takes damage. Have the bard joust out at 12% and stop doing things to ensure they don't get reflected/the DS, bow auto-attack is fine iirc, and make sure there is no DoT on your group ~10%.
Most of the time, this will work on both mobs.

It may depends on what spell / order you use on them too.

Last time i tried with my illusionist ( post RoK ), the AOE fired even while stiffle, but i used the color shower line stiffle, which doesn't seems to work anymore on the few epics i tried it on. The mob has the stiffle icon and immunity pops up, but any cast went through it.

Switched to regular stiffle, the mob kept his mouth shut.

you should have plenty of time to avoid another heal/aoe if you damage stop at around 13/14% to let him heal

Yeah stakes are good, but if you can't kill them from 25% to dead at 80 i dunno what to tell people lol

If you can't manage 28k raid dps (iirc about what it takes to burn him from 11%-to heal-to 5% without the bomb landing) at level 80, then you have bigger things to worry about than bugged stuns/stifles

in t7 those things were easily burned from 10% to dead before the ae went off, without and chanter stifle or stun.
just save your decaps and stuff and just time it right and shouldnt take more than 3 seconds tops

if you cant do it at t8 now just /wrists
