Re: Veeshan's Peak - Rooted Name Feedback and Suggestions
The fights are definately different in concept than other fights we are all normal too but they are too easy. Having our dmg reduced on some of them only make them a time sink, where you end up wanting to go to bed afterwords. My suggestion is to relieve the dmg reduction but have other things happening that provide a challenge while keeping the concept of the "ranged fight." Also, if you really wanted to give the scouts something to do on the taskmaster,... give the adds less HP so they can be killed rather than sitting there beating up on the healers because they are the only ones really grabbing any type of aggro from them. my two cents.

Thats still retarded. For debuffing scouts, relegating us to add bitches utilizes very little of our important skill sets. These range fights are terrible for every scout except probably a Ranger. We need to be close range, behind the mob, to do anything that will benefit the raid, such as major debuffs.
With all these range fights most scouts are rendered useless and expendible. Mages are king in VP.

Ok, now on to business. For those of us who have been in VP, we all know about those ranged fights. The ones where the named doesn't move and mage dps rules. Let's come up with suggestions on how we can make these encounters have viable roles for all the archtypes.
-------------------------------------------------------
Encounter:
VP Taskmaster Nichok (Droag guy standing on rock surrounded by lava)
Problem:
The problem is scouts can't get in melee range.
Ideas:
One solution could be to allow the named to move, but have the named teleport himself and the entire raid if he moves too far from his starting position. This forces him to be tanked, which means melee can get in melee range.
Another solution would be to give the named a single target summon ability ala EQ1. The named could use this ability on the player highest on the hate list whenever they move out of range of the named. This has the same result of forcing the mob to be tanked.

Our scouts do just fine in melee range.

One solution is to give the scouts something else to do while the mob is ranged down. They could put a spell reflect on the power generators, then make them a little easier to kill so that the scouts and fighters can take them out while the mages focus on the named.
Another solution would be to once again just give the named a single target summon ability ala EQ1 and force the encounter to be tanked.

Please post your own feedback and suggestions. For those who haven't experienced these encounters yet, try not to derail the thread.
