Price influence based on server populations?
Example: Will M1's for a coercer be cheaper on a server that has the least amount of coercers?
Reason being, not as much demand for the masters...

Re: Price influence based on server populations?
I tried to correlate server population to broker selection but failed miserably.

Re: Price influence based on server populations?
I'd say it has something to do with class population. I play on Vox, pretty damn low population. I also play a warlock, one of two or three that actually raid. I'm buying M1 damage spells for under 20p. Being a pvp and Station Exchange server, there are tons of scouts. Brig/swash offensive stance is going for well over 100p. Inquiz masters are free, as they are just going to be transcribed and people will trade you any master that is transcribable for one.

Re: Price influence based on server populations?
The price depends solely on how big of a fucking douchenozzle the first person to sell it is.
The rest of the people who then go to sell it will think its actually worth such a ridiculous price, and price it similar.
Yeah, it will probably eventually go down to what the spell is really worth - but in the process they'll all sell out and someone will put it up for 500p again
But yeah, classes with lower populations will *eventually* likely have cheaper masters. But it also depends on what quality masters are available for each class for the more popular level range of mobs being killed, and how rare each is. The only constant is that everything is overpriced everywhere.

Re: Price influence based on server populations?
Its hard to say, I know on our server Zerker, Mystic and Monk masters are the three classes who have at least a half a dozen masters on the broker for a reasonable price.

Re: Price influence based on server populations?
im going to smack the idiot who wants 150p for full moon M1 on nektulos, and i actually spent 20 minutes sending tells to monks i know telling them to make 30p offers on tackling cougar m1 because they guy insisted it was worth 75p simply because it was the only one on broker =/
ed: for those who dont know, those are like the 2 worst skills that monks have as far as dps potential goes hehe

Re: Price influence based on server populations?
Since master spell drops are not affected by the Smart Loot code, the population of a particular class will have no impact that we know of on the drop rate. Thus, supply is not a function of class population, but is purely random.
Since we can rule out supply as a factor, that leaves demand. If there are fewer of a class, there will be less competition for the master spells, but equally less incentive for players to sell at all, as such spells will move less quickly. Keep in mind, we're talking about the ones that sell - having a master sitting on the broker for 6 months at 100p is not the same as actually selling it for 100p to another player.
My guess would be that prices would be a bit lower for less common classes, as there's less competition driving up prices. People selling a master for a low-population class will want to sell it, as the market is limited and there are other sources of masters beyond the broker. Thus, there is incentive to actually lower prices to encourage buying.
