I certainly agree the avatars should not merely be scaled to level, they should be entirely new challenges. They should also be of such difficulty that they are despawning at least the first time around (on all servers).

BUT...

If your sole enjoyment of the game comes from a tiny fraction of the content that is cleared in a relatively small period of time (once strategy and script are figured out), maybe this is not the game for you.

Personally, I can think of numerous better reasons to /rage cancel than contested.

PS. While I consider myself and many in my guild to be top-tier skilled raiders, my guild is not a ww competitor. I believe we are capable of competing for and clearing all game content though. Thus I replied.

The truth is content is only new and cool for like the first two times you kill it, then its boring ass farm status.

IE: The mobs don't matter, the loot does. If avatar loot is as good in RoK as it was in EoF, of course I'll stay. Even if the avatars were all new fights, a few weeks into it they wouldn't be. So who cares. In the end you kill it to get the gear. /shrug

If the loot dropping from avatars and the fabled epic are awesome, then I don't see why anyone would be bitching.

I've quit before and I realized that as much as I hated EQ2... not playing it was boring as fuck.

I'm sure you'll quit EQ2 and suddenly not be online 20 hours a day and become some social lemming, but most avatar killing players wouldn't. They'd sit around on vent listening to their guildies who still play EQ2 while messing around in other games and then they'd eventually want to come back.

You see it happen all the time.

I like how you Ishbu'd there though. You're already making excuses for your guild come avatar time. That is unless your guild sticks to your word and actually quits if the avatars are the same, which I don't see as very likely.

I suppose we'll see.

leethal shut up, first off, your in a guild that ran away like a bitch, secondly 95% of said guild is so busy fighting over who gets to put more of jaraxx's cock in their mouth you dont have a fucking clue, so diaf.

As per the thread, evryone who has come here and started their reply with "well im not in a guild that actually kills avatars but...." your opinion means nothing and the fact you even came and posted here shows you are probably illiterate, or retarded, or probably both. But ill put this in a language you can understand. Imagine back in eof, imagine if every instance was like unrest, with almost the only difference being the name of the mobs. Now imagine every rok instance is the exact same, only they added a new aoe to the final mob. That would be about an equal comparison. The instances you do every/every other day = the mobs we kill.

As per the actual question, ive put so much time and level'd so many alts ill play this game no matter what happens untill ALL my friends quit and/or a new, better game comes out, which i dont see happening anytime soon! So ill continue to pay my 40 bucks for expansions that are 3 monthes away from being ready to go live, and ill continue to solo quest my lvls in a mmorpg. i'll continue to kill epic mobs that are dieing in the first 2 weeks of an expansion that drop lewt worse then can be found by doing solo quests or killing heroic instances, and ill contue to fight the exact same avatars with a new aoe added every 10 lvls, in the hopes one day a dev with a clue gets onboard and we see an expantion worth the money we paid for it.
