The majority of raids in this game are instanced, and there is a whole lot of zero PVPing going on in an instance.

Raiding skill isn't about PVP anyway, and its stupid to think that it is.

LFG was a bluebie raider for years and he has two boxed two toons on Nagafen (unguilded afaik) to 70, so he'll be capped soon.

If he can do it I'm not sure why you think an entire guild couldn't.

Your logic is as good as your ability to post on-topic. Sorry if I don't feel like playing the half-assed addition to the game instead of what the game was thought out to be. Comparing pvp to pve is like comparing Tetris to an FPS game. The people who play either one have different intentions or ideas about what they consider fun, and the objective is a different one. Now if you consider other players a challenge on contested raid encounters, you might as well say "increase the difficulty of the game by operating the keyboard with your ass cheeks".

Now, on the subject:
Personally, I wouldn't quit over the avatars right away, but I'd be disappointed for sure. Can't say for sure, maybe it'll bore me out sooner or later to take a hiatus until another expansion comes out.
I see that coming for many guild mates sooner than myself, which might force me to move on sooner than I want to.

I realize I don't pvp, but how is it 'real' pvping to purposely give up one of your abilities? I mean, lets do some real pvp'ing, and if you are a tank class, you gotta fight naked. A coercer? OK you gotta promise not to mez me.

BTW, do people kill contesteds on pvp servers? If so, do other people come by and gank them mid fight? That'd be funny.
