Greetings, travelers. I am unfortunately coming with a tale of ultimate woe; our attempts at the ring event in the Chamber of Wind, found in Chardok. We're used to running Crypt of Agony and Vaults of Eternal Sleep non-stop, so Chardok was a bit of a cluster-fuck right off the bat. However, we persevered, right into the first room, because we're true battlers.
After a while, it became apparent that we had inadvertently trigger some kind of ring event. Excited by this news, and spurred on by the prospect of phat lewtz, we began the ring event. For those unfamiliar with this-... Actually, I don't care about those unfamiliar with it, I'm looking for some help/advice from those who
are familiar with it.
We triggered the event, several times. We recorded the order in which the horns were blown to trigger the named. We then killed the named, we then cleared the area, and blew the trumpets in the order that had summoned the first named; but alas, to no avail. I've seen a couple of threads about this before, one here and one at the official forums. I would simply update the existing thread here, but I know that the arcane darkness of necromantic posting is frowned upon to the extreme in these waters.
Over on the official forums, daray was able to give this response:
Quote:
We successfully did this in beta.
1) Pay attention to the order the trumpeteers blow their horns when the ring event resets.
2) Kill the crystal named mob in the center (forget the exact name).
3) Kill trumpeteers.
4) Blow horns in the order you noted down at the start.
5) Final named spawns.
At least this is how it worked in beta.

Unfortunately, that seems to be what us, and everyone else who posted having problems tried, and no-one seemed to manage?
So, to sum up something which could've really been explained in three lines, is there some trick to getting the ring event in the first room of Chardok to work, or is it just bugged?
If you read the whole thing, I now reward you with an image of Valaraukar and I having homoerotic fun times on a cloud in the Tenebrous Tangle.
As they say where I come from: "pic not related."
