Favorite soundtracks in the game?
- Echoes of Faydwer - Wow. This stuff... is beautiful. The singing is great, and the string instruments really give off that faerieland feel. In a way it kind of reminds me of Christmas. It's awesome... seriously. The Castle Mistmoore themes are gothic and pretty evil-sounding. Just wow...
- The Desert of Flames - Also wow. The Shimmering Citadel has got to be my favorite zone in game because of the music. Once again, the singing... plus I love the desert-theme.
- The Kingdom of Sky - Though not as good as the other two, the Halls of Fate are pretty awesome.
- Freeport, Qeynos, and Haven - Freeport is by far my favorite of the three, but the orchestrated music again...
- The Thundering Steppes - The only theme I really like from original EQ2.
Now, the gameplay does need work, but the music is kickass.

EoF has fabulous music. Someone somewhere needs to nominate it for an award. If the whole expansion blows, the music will live on.

That's what I'm thinking.
It sounds like it came RIGHT from a fantasy film.

I always love zoning into Blackburrow, because of the music.

I forgot that one.
That one's well-done, too!

Re: Favorite soundtracks in the game?
One thing this game needs to stop doing is making great tunes that only play when you're standing in an entryway the size of a garage. The example I always cite is Poet's Palace, after you go through a mirror. That short ditty is good enough to be expanded to a full-zone score, and yet they leave the rest of the zone silent. WHY?
RPG's are supposed to be lush with music from start to finish. They've always been that way and they've always been better for it.
Another thing... why do named mobs have the same battle music as trash mobs?

The Poet's Palace stuff is so true. That's the thing I don't like!
Plus I do wish that named mobs/epics/etc. had different battle themes, if you dig into your combat music folder you'll see all sorts of "dragonraid" themes that are NEVER used. I replaced them with my own music anyway but still...
My Soul Calibur mp3s make great battle music, but some themes are more suited for trash mobs whereas others are literally epic.

Re: Favorite soundtracks in the game?
Dunno if it counts as music, but I've always liked the background sounds in Sol Eye, the clunky machine sounding stuff.
Its some sort of reprieve since naggy seems to think players enjoy running errands for him.
