A zone doesn't need to be persistent for that. There is no lockout for kiling trash, so even if it wasn't persistent, people would be able to zone in and out. (i.e. Deathtoll)

He was talking about heroic zones not raid zones, they "lockout" upon entry in old style stuff, even though sometimes the fail timers are less.

Look its simple guys SOE STOPPED doing "lockout" zones and did persistant zones for EVERYTHING they no longer do lockouts. Sure the persistance emulates a lockout but it allows you to leave any zone and come right back. I love it.

What Arieste is saying is this I believe...

Persistent zones were meant to save your progress. If you zone into Thuuga, kill all the trash up to name then leave the zone only to re-enter it again all the trash will respawn. So what's the point in making this zone and the Throne Room persistent?

Because EVERY zone is persistent?

What's the point of throwing the tag on every zone when in fact they aren't all really persistent?

Because it's easier to use only 1 system, then use 2 systems for the same basic concept.

that's a good answer

I just think it's misleading (the first time anyhow) to think "oh, we're in persistant instance, let's come back tomorrow and finish this one mob we have left" only to come back the next day and realize the whole thing has reset. Perhaps they should add some way of being able to tell what resets and what doesn't.

also, why not update all zones to new system? rather than using two systems? It can't possibly take more than few hours to re-tag the zones.

It would take quite a long time to change all the old zones over to be persistent I'd imagine.

Also, they do have a system to tell you it has reset. It is the persistent tab of your lockouts window! When it says unlocked that means if everyone leaves and you zone back in it is going to be reset!

also maybe down the road that NPC in there will do something...
so maybe it will be easier to get whatever that guy does (epic quest line maybe?) with it being persistant
