that's the exact situation that happened in my guild too. we spent so many wipes working on the overking encounter that when we finally pulled it off i think all 26 of us (even the ppl out of raid) were screaming and cheering in vent and shaking from the adrenaline rush of the last wild 25% or so of the fight. it was an awesome experience.
i got none of that feeling in VP, except for silverwing maybe... and that wasn't anywhere near as pronounced as overking.
i think once you pass the introductory raid zones (in this case T1) in an expansion, every named encounter should give a guild that kind of incredible rush that overking did. it
should take you hours and hours of wipes to take enough pulls to learn each encounter. there
should be a feeling of accomplishment as you finally kill each dragon.
we should not be skipping through the premiere raid zone in an expansion and bitchslapping the elite members of the Ring of Scale on our first attempt.
