Default Why are some Sokokars faster than others?

I'm very curious about this.

Cause you're a fat ass?

heh

Joking aside, i know what you mean, i've seen this alot with multiboxing (diff comps).

Some toons seem to run a bit slower than others as well, always wondered about that.

It's more likely that this is because of a racial run speed bonus (implemented with kunark expansion). Barbarians for example have an inate 5% extra run speed that appears to stack with everything. I know there are other races with similar bonuses like that are out there as well.

Nah, i've definitely seen toons with the same run speed run slightly faster/slower than one another. ( no encumbrance or anything silly like more run speed ).

Its not something that is overpowered, or disrupts playing, but i figured since we were on the topic i'd make mention.

There's a speed modifier coded into the programming itself, thats what the speed hacks work off of. It could be a slight bug of sorts that varies from comp to comp or acct to acct that would cause it. /shrug

If i minimize my screen my toon will stop on his sokokar in place in flight.

when i reopen my screen he continues on hsi path. This leads me to beleive that lag on my end of the system also can slow my travel.

That's called screen dragging/minimizing, which is a problem in PVP.

I have two almost identical computers side by side. My DE always runs faster than my gnome. I thought it might be the short legs, so I shrunk my DE, and the same thing happens, even when I switch the comps.

Uh, no. There actually is code or whatever in the software of the game that effects speed. Run/walk speed, mount speed, fast travel mount speed, epic speed. Ever range pull an epic and have it take all day to get to you, then the next time you pull the same mob its on you faster than your tank can autoattack?
However yours also is a valid theory, but I've boxed on non dual cores before and noticed this type of thing, having one toon move faster than another while using various types of travel methods.

Of course, we could both be wrong lol.

Something else I've noticed is that large toons like ogres 'seem' to move slower than small toons like rats, although that could just be a matter of perception. Never bothered to have an ogre/rat race lol.

Edits:

Something else that might be the cause could just be flat out variances in differences of speed between the two computers.
You could test this out with a certain program, but it would be bad if you got caught.
