Aaryonar was the cockblock to the North Wing of Temple of Veeshan. Once you got past Aaryonar, it was a huge loot pinata. The only mobs harder were Vulak Aerr and Lord Vyemm, and even they weren't a huge step over Aaryonar.

Fact is, if you want your Mythical Epics bad enough, you will work hard and you will get past Nexona. Once you do, you will be very well prepared for the rest of VP and even Avatars.

Yea I did raid eq1 much. Aaryonar was the gate keeper so to speak. I'll admit he was a bit tougher than his brothers in that area of VP, but 3rd Trip, Vyemm, and Aerr were all probably harder than him. As they should have been.

Is Phara, Silverwing, or anyone else in the game at the moment harder than Nexona? Probably not.

I like your idea though. Going back to the EQ1 Raid days, the whole gate keeper aspect does make sense in a way, but it still shouldnt be harder than the boss of the instance, that jsut doesnt make any sense.

Valtrexx basically said that with the equipment of lower tiers it will be harder then with VP loot.

You said not....we argue that the gear in there, albeit not as progressive as could be is a big step forward for most guilds....you just call it worthless.

I agree with crac if it is killable then it is fine. I do think several more of the encounters should be tweaked as well and the loot within the zone upgraded. I don't know why elder ekron was nerfed he wasnt that hard to begin with. If it was to reduce/remove the ld's in his room then maybe it is exceptable, other then that the npcs need to be upgraded and not nerfed.

There is a good amount of vp loot that is better then lower tier loot. 7 crit shoulders, 7 double atk legs, etc, etc. Items that do increase your raids dps which does make nexona easier.

In retrospect, perhaps they are boosting all of VP over time? If so, that wouldn't be too bad of a change. If they plan on making VP the be all end all of raid zones, besides trak's lair of course, it should be a bit harder than it is now.

If that's the case, then bravo SOE, but if you're just going to mess with an encounter here and there don't even bother, especially if you're not going to mess with the loot in VP either (rumored that they are, but who knows).

I doubt they would have nerfed Ekron if that was the case.

Here is what i would like to see they should upgrade the mobs and then upgrade the loot. The loot should be exchanged and not just retroactively changed thus allowing only the new harder encounters to drop the better loot.

Yea seriously wtf is up with that? Ekron was one of the easiest fights in there. The only thing I can think of is trying to negate the LD issues with him.

maybe ekron was changed not to make it easier but to fix the memory leak issue with that encounter/area.

Ekron's little area is a cluster fuck.

Nexona is a blast, and while you may be a bit frustrated wiping to it for a bit, I assure you the ends will make you extremely happy.

Last night was much like our WW 4th kill of Pedestal of Sky back in T6...people were yelling over Vent. The game needs more difficult fights like that which make the entire guild thrilled for accomplishing a victory.
