Re: Kodux/Zarda
Just an update... we went in on Tuesday and did it the same way we always have (posted earlier in the thread), no issues. The general lag issue was irritating but it didn't impact the strat at all.

What kind of Raid DPS do you need to do the straight burn method?

Re: Kodux/Zarda
Yes, I d like to know that too, and also how you actually manage to keep the guy you don't kill at one place not running around after ports and shit and raping everyone since he ll have his fuckin blue aura of death which mana drain and one shot basically everything but an heavy tank.
We have been stuck on this fight for months, only managed to kill them before they nerf the "perfect aggro" spell for monk, peel. But since that nerf, it is wipe after wipe. Sometimes we get 2 healer on the same tank TP at the same time the tank dies etc...
I swear, I hate that fucking random shit in fight, Venril might be a pain, but at least everything single aspect of his fight is predictable and can be managed in some way.
Atm we are fightning them like this :
Pull one in the center while we tank the other far away (and call TP so that people run toward it)
Dps the one in the center till 75%
Move the one at 75% far away (and call tp for him)
Move the first one at the center and dps him down to 50%
etc
Problem is, that systematically we are having one unlucky port at a moment, like both tank being tp at the same time, or 2 healers, people dying massively, etc.
It is a serious pain in the a...I rather kill Venrill 20 times a week than fighting those gays ass twins once a year. So if someone has a definite strat that works and doesn't require 80k dps to be accomplished, I am all ears. Or anything that might reduce the gayness (randomness) of the ports.
If that continue I ll just ask everyone to worship solusek and we ll burn their ass using incinerate.

Re: Kodux/Zarda
Much Simpler Method:
Split your dps into 2 x2 groups.
One group takes the north hallway, other group takes the East Hallway.
Kill the Assassins that spawn in the fountains before you pull.
Main tank aggros one, other group in other hallway picks it up while it's moving.
Have someone call the ports in Vent, I.E. Soandso North, Soandso East, so the people who are ported know which way to move after being ported, it's disorienting at times.
Burn them down approximately the same time, within 5% or so of each other.
Simple.

Re: Kodux/Zarda
we have tried this before, what happens is that even if we call the ports people still die often.
They run toward the tank, and before the tank gets the mob back, they get their ass kicked in one or 2 shot. And splitting our dps like this the fight is too long. And after a few "bad" deaths, healer and such, or even dps (as a wizard when I die my dps drops to shit), the fight takes longer etc and we die.
I am not too fond of splitting the dps anyway, by doing this you are dividing it by more than 2, since you are also splitting your debuffs.

Re: Kodux/Zarda
Your Dirge/Pally/Necro needs to rez faster then...
These mobs aren't that tough when you keep them within 5% of each other and keep them far enough apart.

Re: Kodux/Zarda
Splitting our dps worked perfectly when we were using peel and "locking" the mobs. But now the only thing we managed is to make the fight last soo long that we lose in the long run.
We try to rez as fast as we can, but a rez is just that, a rez, fully debuffed, not full power, rez effect etc. and sometimes the people supposed to rez are the one dying etc...there are so many things that can go wrong in this fights and are purely luck based...seriously whoever created those mobs is the worst content designer ever.
Using randomness when creating your encounters, is only a way to implement a false difficulty in order to hide your lack of creativity and skills to make intelligent and well designed encounters.

Re: Kodux/Zarda
A few things.
The fight is not hard, it's just annoying, and that is minimized when tanks are actually doing their job. Last night we had them dead with only 1-2 deaths. Keeping group heals up is key on this fight. We use the split and burn method. There's not much to this fight other than you can't have a shitty tank, and your people have to pay attention if you're going to split them, because random people are always getting ported.
If you choose the tank and burn method, and focus on one at a time, they stop porting altogether. Your tank will be bolted every few seconds for 10k dmg though, so you're going to have to really step up your game and overheal if that's the case.
