Concerning Dru,

We have to admit the dev team is in a delicate position. In the past, one of the biggest gripes came from players who didnt like the idea of "lesser guilds" progressing too quickly. With Mythicals, the possible "bitchfest" would have been absolutely horrid.

When you think about it, you know the devs will nerf encounters over time like they always have. This time around the hardcore guilds start out in the casual guild shoes... patiently waiting until the mobs become killiable by your skill level.

Yea, they went overboard when beefing Dru. Ihe skill level is indeed impossibly high and encounters are buggy, but its going to change. A year from now (and many nerfs later) players will probably be complaining that VP is too easy. This is the price to be paid when the devs take it upon themselves to moderate progression via skill.

As for the rest of the fubar encounters, same deal. Dont think for a second SOE gives a fuck about encounters for the same reasons we do. They want customers, plain and simple, and they will change encounters for the best balance of fun vs fair.

Its the waiting around they (devs) NEED to worry about. The playerbase will only pay2play for so long before moving on. If the devs dont get into gear and start tweaking encounters, I have a feeling alot of the good players who help hold the community together will leave.

His presence would do wonders though. The crafter community did a u-turn when domino took over, with plenty of posts and open discussions people stopped bitching (for the most part).

I think just a little interaction can go a LONG way.

Domino was a player turned dev. Those types of devs are always like that in the beginning. Roger has been a game dev since the 80s.

All I'm saying is the guy has been at SOE forever, and I think he had like 4 posts on the official forums in like 3 years and I've never seen him at a chat and I'm fairly sure he doesn't go to Fan Faire.

Not everyone is outgoing and accessible to the players. Dev isn't community.

Hell iirc when we beta tested DoF encounters for him while I was in FoH he only talked to Noah, he just seemed kind of stand-off'ish.

He has nothing to do with that, Lyndro does. Lyndro is the lead designer of RoK and everyone answers to him. Even if devs want to fix shit they can't unless Lyndro okays it, etc.

I just don't see how Roger commenting on Druushk being changed is any different than Lyndro doing it. In fact Lyndro is probably more effective because he is:

A) Known
B) In charge
and
C) Infinitely more accessible than Roger ever was.

Probably doable, but you'd need even more luck (longer fight, bigger chance of clickers getting attacked, generally lower dps,...), since the fight itself (meaning dealing with Druushk and adds) did not change, and the dps requirement can be met without mythicals, just the "fix" introduced a heightened chance of unintended wtfpwnage of The People With The Stressed F-Key.
