Re: Overking
Thank you,
Knowing which was hitting us with the arcane will allow us to adjust our strategy and hopefully progress a bit farther.

Re: Overking
Yes, the mentalists are the biggest bitch. I strongly support having ranged dps directly target these ones as the stun can, and will, mess with picking them up (although consecrate works wonders when it is up). One or 2 are likely to sneak thru otherwise.
I also recommend picking the adds up on the dias and moving them towards the near set of pillars. This will help prevent the stuns from hitting the rest of the raid and it should catch any that want to sneak around to the south or north.

Wonder if even having the mage dps and rangers create mentalist hotkeys and just spam assault em right when they pop is worth it. If the mentalists were bright neon green it would be straightfoward but they arent...in the thick of battle (and lag...), might be easier just to create a no brainer method for clearing these ASAP.

Re: Overking
Hotkeys would work well as targetting in these encounters can be difficult. I'm lazy though and will only hotkey the "/thumbsup" emote, tbh.

Re: Overking
There is one short AoE stun from the king, it lasts 3 seconds, and you can't avoid it. The disciples are casting ( translation may be bad ) Curse of Kor sha, which is a 5 minutes stun. Arcane resistance.
What we usually do is spread healers. On pop, disciples will target someone in the raid, and cast the curse on him, it will AoE mez or stun people around that target for 5 minutes. Having healers a bit spread allows them to not get caught all at the same time. We also have the MT defiler cure other groups healers on pop.
The mentalists have a short duration spell which drains a bit of mana, but not really a problem.
Disciples will cast their spell regardless of the range, so your raid will get hit by hit, just get ready to deal with hit, cure healers / OT first, then the DPS. At least, it works for us. Usually, waves are down in about 20 seconds. An AE stunner will help a lot too, waves goes down faster when our illy is online.

A little off. The stun from Overking is rangeable. MT group / healers generally get hit but the rest can range this. Cure out of group if necessary or just let it fade.
Curse of the kor'sha comes from the adds to be sure. Generally they cast it as soon as they pop and it hits one group. Doesn't hit cross raid simply hits one group and it can be difficult to try to control who it hits, out of group healers / casters cure it off the necessary people.
The proximity AE is the dmg shield from overking. When you dmg him you have the chance to proc the stun in a small blue ae radius from the person it hits.

Re: Overking
If your healers are getting hit by the AE Stun from Overking, your healers are retarded and should learn to max range, or quit the game.
Wtf is this proximity AE that's a damage shield on overking? I mean, I've fought this mob so much that you're full of shit. The Damage Shield on the Overking is as follows:
When you damage him, you stifle yourself!
End of story, that's it, that's all the damage shield on the overking does, period.

Re: Overking
Thank you with the help on the mentalists, we can now control the adds without a problem. One thing that we keep running into is at somewhere between 50 and 55% he grabs his sword and sometimes rips us a new one. At first we thought it was because we were not using the item from pawbuster fast enough, but last night I read through the log and I think we are. He says: "The sword has been compromised, but how?" and then we get hit with Bolt of the Serpent Chief. Are we clicking to early or late, or is there another problem going on at this point? Last night I was spam clicking the item at about 55 or 54% until it fired off on him.
Thank you for any additional help.

Re: Overking
Being a non-healer and non-tank for this fight, I couldn't tell you what Bolt of the Serpent Chief is. But my guild doesn't have any real problems with OK himself after the sword is disabled. Probably wouldn't hurt to have your healers prepare for a big jump in spike damage at that point, but after that shouldn't be anything new that you don't already know about.
