Matron for me hands down. Was a huge rush when it died. Took alot of coordination when in t7.

Fuck yeah Matron, killing that the first few times was probably the most fun i had playing this game. After that maybe Princes, always was fun forming up then just running up and pulling it from someone else.

MO, while not an amazingly designed encounter always provided enjoyment, there was always at least 2 other guilds showing up to pull (See old school befallen drama).

PHH, same reason as MO, people actually showed to pull it. Quick fight, meh, but at least you had to fight for it. Enjoyed this over the T7 avatars.

While I wasn't playing back in T5, when I finally did manage to get around to it, those raids were some of the most fun I had playing the game, either mentoring down, or messing around with an alt, anything in that tier seemed entertaining.

So far, since Ive came back, T8 really doesn't seem as fun as the old tiers have been, it just seems to be lacking something. :Edit because formatting didn't take

Chel'Drak
Matron
Pedestal of Sky
Mayong Mistmoore (before they actually nerfed it to crappyness, it wasn't hard but it was a good balance of dealing with adds, but having to take care of the MT aswell, whereas all avatars were like: burn adds asap and hope MT doesn't die)

Druushk sucks if you're on statue duty.

I probably should have asked what about these encounter people enjoyed. As many encounter in eq2 have a real fun element to them but are let down by some tedious retarded mechanic that makes us all spend even more time looking for the next MMO.

Any fight that's challenging for 24 people is a good thing.

Fights that are challenging for 6 people (yes I'm referring to the MT group), and just require the other 18 people to be looking at EQ2 rather than porn are just poor design.

I don't mind "easy" and "simple" encounters, I certainly don't want raiding to become more elitist as a whole. It can be a very enjoyable and social aspect of eq2.

But for the hardest mobs in the game, anything which allows for dead weight is just laziness on the part of the designer.

Easy is not green, hard is not Orange. We seriously deserve better than this, and we've had better in the past.

I started this thread before SOE pulled away from EQ2Flames, as I hoped by getting people talking about what they enjoyed and why, that we might see more of what's fun being introduced to the game. While also getting less of what is most certainly not fun.

Favourite mob is Commander Drisk.

The green con solo guy in FoB, the one that gets off his horse at 50% or so and the horse becomes a 'pet' mob..

Would be cool as a raid mob!

I still liked the final encounter in Nizara back before EoF. I still remember her as being the only group encounter that actually required every member of the group to not be an idiot. Killing her for the first time was a good memory.
