The original Venekor/Vanarak fight in Spirits of the Lost was fun other than having to position your raid so that the 4 clickers could actually take part.
K'Dal was interesting: having to perform a specific HO that required the whole group was an interesting twist.
I liked that previously there were fights that hinged on really hard burn dps. There are NONE like that any more, other than maybe burning adds at Overking or keeping glimmers locked down in Nexona. I mean encounters where the core and sole goal of our raid was to really fuck up the mob as fast as humanly possible, or die. The Underworld Summoner, Mutagenic Outcast (at least the way we did it), that raid in Zek that ate your gear.
EoF avatars were all a lot of fun IMO, other than Mischief with the fucking bullshit perma-stifle/mez/stun/disarm. Valor, Flame and War were a blast.
I'm rambling. How about this? I like raids where:
1) Everybody has a role.
2) That role has people PLAYING THEIR FUCKING CLASS, not running in god damn circles or clicking things.
3) Roles are relatively interchancable. For example, you need 6 healers. Not, you specifically need 6 templars because they have one itty bitty ability that nobody else gets that you NEED for the fight. Fun raids are raids you can go to with any well built raid force and have a chance of beating, not raids that require so many specific classes you have to spend your time coordinating peoples schedules to pull them off.
4) Raids where I can do my job. Stop with the god damn uncurable stifles, stuns, mezzes, charms, and fears. There's absolutely no fun factor in this stuff. It happens, you can't stop it or fix it, and it completely fucks up whatever your job is (dpsing, healing, etc). Being interupted all the fucking time is frustrating as too.
... so much for positive.
