Default First Proctectors Realm Run for us

I am MT for a fairly new guild and while we piddled in EoF for a bit, not accomplishing much, we decided to move into RoK and see how we did.

Yesterday we ran PR for the first time, with the only other RoK epic to have killed being Tairiza in Thuuga.

We did die a couple of times figuring stuff out, but we steamrolled the first 4 mobs and then started in on Doomcoil.

We setup in his room, with fighters at the rear of the room and ranged/healers near door. When I handed in the bones, I snagged and pulled to the back wall and we proceeded to kill him, but in the end, between AE's killing people and me losing aggro randomly due to the memwipe? We only got him to 41% before we wiped.

I just wanted to see if some of you that have killed him before suggest that PR gear being the main thing we are missing and how do you deal with the memwipe/aggro loss from tank?

I think we did great for our first run and hope to finish him off then the rest of the zone our next run this week.

Any info. appreciated.

Get your Divine and Poison resists over 6k for every member of the raid. Raid gear has nothing to do with your ability to kill him. You'll kill him very soon once you realize what's going on there.

ya i've seen him killed with only 18k raid dps, my first 5 times or so killing him i was told to buff for disease and poison (no mention of divine), i was at 11k disease and almost 13k poison and about 3-4k divine. Not once did the AE kill me as a wizard fighting ranged. (maybe divine is for people in close for a closer range AE??)

So later when killing him with another guild they say buff divine and poison, so I buff divine to 8k and poison to 7.6k, I died from the AE everytime when buffed like that. So next time in with same guild I ignore what they saying and go with what worked in the past and buff poison and disease to over 10k and guess what no deaths from the AE.

So maybe divine is only short ranged then if thats true then anyone up close buff for that but as ranged wizard ignore divine resists.

If you have someone on raid that keeps dying over and over then leave them down as them dying will heal the mob.

Have several tanks fighting for aggro, cycle thru rescue's reinforcement etc, starting fight with monk peel+tsunami seems to work well too, then blow him up. If ranged dps get aggro run to the tanks etc etc, don't have anyone stand in front of the opening because they may get kicked out the door which is not good. If you don't kill him the first run you will have to fight him + the six pack which is going to be ruff if you are having trouble with doomcoil in the first place.

We dont even range Doomcoil. Everyone gets resists up, and we all stack right there in that spot where he ports people to. Heal through AoE, a couple tanks fighting for aggro, and burn him like any other mob.

If you're lucky enough to have 2 guards, recapture is a blessing for the memwipe.

have a second tank taunting the whole fight, he should be 2nd @ aggrolist ready to take over.
If someone else gets aggro move to the tank and dont let the ae go off in the middle of the raid.

the aoe's are ranged based, so if you have members who are lacking on certain saves, just have them stand back and it shouldn't be a problem

Thanks for all of the responses. We are taking another stab at this guy this weekend. We are getting PR gear and pots for everyone and working to get everyone to at least 8K PR.

Buffed with gear I am sitting at over 10K PR and didnt really get bothered by the AE last time, so this should help.

Wish us luck!

I hope we're never lucky enough to have 2 guardians on a raid.

I MA as a Guard, and the ability to force every other fighter to mini-rescue once a min has turned out to be priceless on many encounters.
