Funny, since you don't raid I kinda feel the same way about you.

I'm guessing this was meant to be directed at SOE.

Lol, hmmm... everyone? Did it ever occur to you that a zone can be fun and drop appropriate loot?

And if a zone is bullshit and fucking sucks, all the loot in the universe isn't going to save it or redeem its designer. That's what you fail to understand. That's a very fatal thing to misunderstand when you try to make money off of a game.

You seem to be off on some rant. Kind of lost you there. But once again, I'm guessing this is directed at SOE since I'm not trying to "make money" off Everquest 2.

Re: Good Job Soe on SoH
Zones should be fun AND the reward should match the level of effort and/or skill (the two go hand in hand) required to obtain it. This is a very fundamental design tenet, ignore it completely and why not have exactly what I suggested earlier, which was to have avatar loot drop off of mobs in the Peat Bog? If you can understand exactly why that would be wrong, then obviously you have some grasp of the concept of "risk vs reward" (probably a bad term, since people inevitably like to go off on a tangent about how there is no risk or other such nonsense which is deliberately misunderstanding the nature of the complaint, so let's call it "effort vs reward"), now all that remains is to realize how little effort is required to gain the massive rewards that drop off of the mobs in Shard of Hate.
I mean, shit, I guarantee you that the first 3, maybe 4 named are single groupable, 2 groups at the most - it just throws the whole concept of progression right out the window.
That said, you're probably right if you're saying that there isn't enough raid content for the casuals - there's no "labs" in this expansion, nothing that a randomly picked set of 24 people with 12 fighters and 8 druids as healers can run amok through and get some low tier fabled and have a bit of fun, with no real skill or effort required - and honestly I think zones like that are necessary, it gets people into raids and whets their appetite for more, and if they are looking for more out of "raiding" then that they can join better guilds, and keep the cycle going.

Re: Good Job Soe on SoH
Yeah but Labs was never truly a pickup raid until EoF. I think when the next expansion hits we will see more people doing pickup raids in PR/Korsha etc.

Re: Good Job Soe on SoH
Trash runs were common for relic patterns in KoS. You are right though that full named pickup runs were not.
