I'm on your side in this argument, but I think I understand how a lot of non-hardcore people feel. Its all too easy to restate the other side's position falsely and dismiss it. Both sides are doing it. Of course that Alesis guy started the whole thing. Anyway, now the argument goes nowhere. Nothing is accomplished. FWIW, it seems to me there is a lot of bitter feelings from the non-HC peeps, and I think it is related to something touch on a bit earlier. People do want something to strive for, but those goals have to be realistic, and for whatever reason they do not see the higher end raid content to be realistically attainable. So in essence they do not have anything to strive for. Yeah, I know its silly, that they'd be wrong to think it, or they suck, or blah blah blah. Its all true. I think its just where you and I think of the game as too easy, most people think it is too hard.

The error a lot of people make is in not realizing that the other side can be perfectly reasonable people with perfectly reasonable expectations and still be wrong.

Maybe I'm just emo.

raise your hand if you thought either progression or itemization (risk vs reward) was good before SoH. Why in the hell would it suddenly change with the introduction of one zone? Seriously. I expected it. It sucks a little. But not enough to argue about it for 30+ pages now.

There are instanced t7 raid encounters that harder to beat than some t8 ones. Named mobs in tier 1 RoK are tougher than some named mobs in VP. Theres some loot that drops in group instances or even named in JW is better than most stuff that drops in any raid zone.

It's been around for awhile, and I certainly didn't expect SoE to suddenly do anything right with this single zone. I personally like how it starts real easy and is tough at the end, but the loot that drops from the easy stuff certainly doesn't match up with anything else (maybe a couple avatar pieces), even more so when you consider risk.

no, ppl who put in the effort to kill those mobs (and other comparable or even harder mobs) should get the loot they deserve, and not just hack&slash a few and get better loot than some harder mobs drop...

the main point im going to pick up on is how u mention that the leaked strat from NPU is an element that should be factored in while trying to deduce how much time/effort is required to kill trakanon

Well isnt that strat openly available to you ? ... so how come you guys aint killed trak yet on no wait you have to play 24/7 for 3 years to even come close to defeating this mob !

the point i am trying to make is that you keep leaning on the crutch that you do not have as much time to invest into the game as your supposed hardcore counterparts. well... i drive a car i pay the rent for my home my car didnt drop from a raid mob my home is not paid for in raid plats so plz tell me how i as a hardcore raider am online 24/7 ? who pays for my car who pays my rent ?
