We tried having our fighters do nothing but look pretty. Maybe toss up group buffs, maybe toss an intercede every now and then, i'm not sure other than the do nothing part. P'tasa would aggro them anyway, but then he'd switch targets after awhile. No curse, and a successful kill.

And besides, if the fighters aren't in the raid when you kill him, how are they supposed to update the quest?

Killed 3 times since SOH launch without any curse popping up... doing nothing special. I just hope it stays that way for us......

We just pull it and kill it, thats it O_o No curse, no nothing. Only a proc stoneskin on him, witch make the fight longer, and somes litles AE ZW and some kind of reset aggro. The tanks just switch aggro between them, never had trouble when we found out that there was no "scout tanking" needed for that mob ;p (Wiped 5 times when we tryed with no fighters, lol)

We killed him for the 3rd time last night, noticed him targetting fighters more often, not sure if it was a fluke or not.

He definitly got changed. We had fighters standing at the zone line AFK and he would still targte them during the fight and aoe the curse. So we let all fighters die, and while they were staying dead our warlock tanked him again lol.

Good to know. I think we've had at least 1 fighter in the raid everytime we've killed him, but they typically don't do anything.

On Sunday, Master P would purposely target our 1 fighter sometimes even though he was doing nothing.

Last night we had our fighters tank him with out using taunts and didn't get hit with the curse.

Why does this guy have such a hardon for the necro class... I died 3x as many times as any other class. I literally revived and when I had finished zoning I already had agro and was getting punched in the face again.

Yep, fighters alive but doing nothing=curse now with the change. So from this and other posts above, we can gather: fighters must be part of raid and IF alive must do something but cant actively taunt/acquire aggro. Im not familiar with fighter skills to know but it is likely a subset of their abilities triggering the curse. One I do know is Altruism is a definite trigger from my experience which has nothing to do with taunting/detaunting.

My guild has not managed to take him down as yet but we have myself gaurd, and monk, OT zerker and sometimes pally in raid and don't get cursed, ever.....try hammer pull

Uhm, Altruism increases the threat position of the brawler who cast it. So basically a fighter can't increase their threat with direct means, nor can a rogue. Easy enough to deal with, such a dumb fucking mob.
