Are we ready for server mergers?
Recently i have been leveling a new toon and now after 3 expansions and almost 4 years since the games release it seems dam near impossible to get a group until you hit tier 8.
My charecter is now in his 60's but after 3 weeks of leveling I find myself in zones that use to be heavily populated and I'm the only person in there. To give you a few examples MMC and SoS yesterday I was in both zones for over a hour and doing periodic zone checks trying to catch a group, not one person stepped foot in either zone.
With all of the expansions the game has several options for you to level now and with more zones to level in and less people leveling I can see how someone completely new to the game could be discouraged easily into quiting.
I have been playing this game since the first day of open beta and can remeber fighting over blobs in the sewers cause there was so many people. its seems now if you arent t8 theres not even 6 people on server wide for any other level range.
Thoughts?

Re: Are we ready for server mergers?
You're in your 60s. Why would anybody be in those zones anymore, considering the majority of ACTIVE players are in their 70s and have long since out-leveled those zones.
If you're going to cry for a server merge, look at the latest zones, not last tier's.

Damn dude, do you ever say anything positive? I like to keep up on my AA so I run through every zone questing as much as I can rather then going to just the newer zones.

Re: Are we ready for server mergers?
Blah, blah, blah. You're complaining about population issues in old content. There's always going to be population issues there on any server! Maybe if there's like 5 people in Fens(which I wish at one point there to be), we'd have serious reasons for concerns.

And its not just for lower people leveling. On Guk for example is loaded with raiding guilds and everyone has had problems lately (including NPU) recruiting. I even saw guilds that are in VP open recruiting in raid chat. My guild has been looking for a wizard for 2 weeks now and that class should be a dime a dozen.

Re: Are we ready for server mergers?
Population on Runnyeye is pretty low, and aye, the lower zones are almost always deserted (classics like ROV and SH have some noobs and farmers tho). If EQ2 didnt have that retartded toon-lives-on-a-server concept, but rather a flexible approach like Guild Wars (where you can change to another server in-game immediately, it's actually more like zoning), it would be easier to find non-T8-groups.

Re: Are we ready for server mergers?
well, imo some servers need merges
ps I'd also love second russian PvE server, but mostly because of lag issues. And I dont think SoE will fix lag problems ever, so 2nd server!

While I like the idea of being able to move between servers freely (name issues could be solved by adding a server reference to the name if not on char's native server), it might be mainly helpful for plat sellers and farmers...

Re: Are we ready for server mergers?
Just because NPU is having trouble recruiting doesn't mean it's because of lack of players. No, it's because of lack of GOOD players. There's a difference.
