I've heard reports of this and seen it myself. The adds spawn and then everyone dies because they pommel everyone. It has definitely changed. The adds can no longer be mezzed.

I went in last night again, with a new group(I managed to gather ppl from the 3-4 top end guilds on the server).

I had a Fury, Mystic, Ranger, Swashy, Warlock(for the adds) and me..

We knew he could be interupted/stunned.. We had Water Breathing
We dedicated the Fury to casting cure trauma when adds arrived.

My experience about the fight this time.
U can see when he casts Kneel Before me(which is the disease dot) by the black circle of smoke around his feets.
* This AoE is the one that seems to trigger the spawns, and it also ends in the slashing aoe dmg.

The adds does 2-3k dmg pr hit as long as u have the trauma dot on ye.
The fury (by his own words) had no chance to cure the trauma's quickly enough.
*This bugs me like hell... I know other healers say they can cure the trauma easily enough. Why is it that I have had 5 healers myself that wasnt able to.

I was able to interupt the adds once.. but it was nearly impossible to time this right.

The warlock and my own aoe didnt do squat to the adds in dmg, so bringing one was pointless..

The fight should be straight forward.. you have to keep 3 things in mind..
1. Have group buff Water Breathing
2. Cure Trauma on MT (spam it)
3. Interupt/Stun the named when he casts his summon

We failed miserably 10 times.. again.

On a side note.. My guild had 2 other groups in there last night. I explained what they should watch out for. And they both failed every time. They just couldnt get the trauma's off quick enough

We can clear VP, but we cant seem to clear this friggin instance... rarr

What are we doing wrong?
Pls no 'get ppl that dont suck' comments.. they're getting old.

Tell mystic to spec sta line for fast cures and it's best to have a dirge or coercer in group so you do more damage and healers get good buffs too. However you should be ok with a group you had so i dunno...

You need a monk and a coercer. Have the coercer thoughtsnap when the adds come, and have the monk group FD. Stand up before he resets and burn him down like sherman burned atlanta.

Is the AOE trauma? If not, will reprieves do any good? Maybe you need to max resists.

Well dev replied to thread on EQ2 boards. Appears that the changes to Veksar were unintentional and he is hoping for a hot fix. We shall see.

We went in with a full mythical group last night and were able to down him with me (defiler) solo healing. It was noticeably harder than the previous version with a lot of close calls (several purples), but no one died. I do agree that with a full group of pickups it would be rough. We did have a metric ton of DPS, without which I do not think we would've won. I am cure spec, and was able to keep the trauma down with no issues. The AE is what personally gave me fits on the healing front. I would not have been able to keep up with the heals on group without the amount of reuse speed and proc gear I have.

Prior to this last patch I have done him with stuns and without. The current form is harder than both. I like difficulty in an encounter, but am glad they are reverting some of these changes so that he's doable with a less than ideal group.

Did anyone per chance get a chance to read the descriptions of the dots / debuffs in the detriemental window? On official forums there is a guy saying reading/understanding that will make the encounter trivial.. Dunno if he is full of bull.. but worth a check..

Did it tonight with Guard/Monk/Warden/Templar/Troub/Conj and saw no spike damage, even when there were a couple trauma's stacked on me.

Granted it was a mythical'd group, it still felt "just right" in difficulty for an instance boss. Kinda like Dru in maidens before the whining and bitching by untalented asshats got her nerfed.

I've killed it twice post LU49. Full mythical group though.

(Me)Paladin, Assassin, Wizard, Swash, Illy, Templar.

Lots of DPS = win.

People swear chaining interrupts prevents the adds, which i'd tend to agree on seeing as the second run through the adds didn't spawn until the named was at about 20% health.

Just position yourself so the adds aren't stabbing your back and you can get more blocks off. Oh, and never get a 2nd healer if you can't kill something heroic... especially if you have decent gear (you said you had a mythical so I assume the rest of your gear is alright)... just get a bard or more dps.

Cleared it twice so far with : me (pally), inq, warlock, brig, illus and dirge.. first try after the update took us few pulls but yesterday we got it on first try.. ive noticed that it's very helpful to have divine aura when adds are up and basically spam heals on my self and keep the aoe dots up and through some aoe nukes from time to time..

I actually hope they will keep the encounter as it is now because finally it was some kind of challenge for us.. shame though THE DROP RATE IN THIS ZONE IS FUCKING RETARDED!
