I've done 1500 on an encounter and I have done almost nothing. It's all about the zonewides and those dirges fuckin blow if they parse 200 zonewide.

It's not all about zonewides. Contested and single target instances aren't zones, but those parses still count. If you can't parse for shit on a single target then you're not shit.

I realize that. In this situation, I was pointing out how shitty a zonewide was for a Dirge. Even if we were talking about the Othysis fight, it's pretty sad to see 219.

Say if a high parse in your guild for zonewides was 1500. If someone posted 1500 every fight, and had 1500 zonewides, but could do no better on any given singular fight.. Would you want him?

Clearing raid zones faster is a plus, yes. But why does it matter so much when all we grade guilds on is contested and single target kills? We don't say "your guild is better than mine because it clears instances faster", we say "My guild is better than yours because we killed this contested and you haven't".

Idiot of the board goes to you, Fumtik.

For starters, if the top of the parse was 1500 in my guild, I'd fucking quit the game, because my guild would suck balls.

DPS doesn't make a guild cock ring. The reason we base a guild's ability on contested is because it requires the entire raid to do their jobs together.

The only constant that every class has is DPS. So we base their ability off of that. If 2 defilers are comparing their skills, the amount they heal is directly dependant on the tank's gear and the mob they're fighting. But the DPS shows who is doing more. Same with dirges, and any other class in the game.

I know its a hard concept for you to grasp, since you play (i use that term loosely) a class that has absolutely no utility whatsoever, but people that don't suck at their class can fulfill their role in the raid, and have leftover time to do nothing.... or to dps.

So when you're comparing one dirge to another, all there really is to compare is zone wide dps. So, once again, you look like an idiot.

Way to take a hypothetical statement and answer it you fucking idiot. If a person parsed 400 higher than everyone else on single targets (such as contested), but did 400 less in zonewides, how does that make that person a worse player? Also, how did I say DPS made a guild? I didn't, so quit being fucking retarded. I merely stated that zone wide DPS wasn't everything, if your guild can't step up on difficult encounters then who gives a shit what your DPS can average zone wide.

i personaly would say theres more than just dps to judge wether certain classes are good or not. On easy trash mobs i guess you can compare.. but some classes like dirges, or... coercers ect can parse well on trash, but dont do any dps on fights where theyre required to do other things. You can compare a dirges dps to another... but would you recruit a dirge that could do 900 dps but never rezed people or casted cob? Id rather have a dirge that did their job and had mediocre dps, than have a dirge that could do 800 dps somtimes.
