Re: Zone wide DPS
Wow Rizzel, I was going to comment on your stupid fucking comments, but you edited it before I could even post to something even more idiotic.
Regardless of the type of the encounter, named and trash go into a zonewide parse. Yes some named/trash I parse lower than my typical zonewides. However, some I parse higher on-- which, (I know this is a lot for you to understand) shows in my zonewides.
And I don't know about you, but if you recruited a dirge that didn't cast CoB and parsed 900, I would call shannigans on that. CoB makes the majority of a dirge's DPS. However, I actually do parse around 900, and still do the other jobs required as a dirge.

Re: Zone wide DPS
Most likely the person whos parsing the highest on zonewides will also parse highest on contested mobbs. That is if they are an all around good player.

Also, how did I say DPS made a guild? I didn't, so quit being fucking retarded. I merely stated that zone wide DPS wasn't everything, if your guild can't step up on difficult encounters then who gives a shit what your DPS can average zone wide.

It means the person doesn't pay enough attention to the entire raid so he should be booted for somebody who paid attention and did their job to the fullest. If you aren't going to try 100% of the time, then get the fuck out.

Re: Zone wide DPS
Vocal is right, if the dirge knows wtf he is doing he can get nice zonewides while doing all his debuffs / rezzing. Our dirge does 750-1000 zonewides depending where we are. Even on the Matron last week he did 594 and he was "doing his job" the whole time. I guess 99% of the bards out there just suck cock.

Re: Zone wide DPS
It depends on their AAs too. If a dirge parses high but didn't take don't kill the messenger then he's shit. I don't know if I'd say bladedance is a must though.

Re: Zone wide DPS
Any bard that considers themselves in a "raiding guild", would be stupid not to take DKTM and Bladedance. Almost every raid zone, and many of the contested are much easier if bards have Bladedance. A bard is a utility class. Any bard that takes STA for double attack over either of those lines is both stupid and selfish.

were all impressed with ur leet 900 dps... not... your still not getting my point.. dirges are utility and they have other jobs. 200 dps for a dirge is realy low. but a ZONE WIDE parse of like 400-600 is perfectly decent. If a dirge made a zone wide parse of 900 its because they didnt have to rez anyone, and they were going all out dps on every single fight and even if they were, like u said, its impossible to do 900 or so on every fight, Your point was u can do 900 on some encounters.. im sorry if this is hard for you to understand but in order to get a zone wide parse of 900 you would have to do that much dps or more on every single fight.. the fights where you as a dirge have to do other things i imagine your dps goes down into the 600 range or lower depending on the encounter.. still not getting it?

Parse reads as: Name -> Total Damage -> Ext. DPS -> Healed
EH Parse where we stopped at the second floor.
I'm a Dirge. The buffs I ran were Boon, Hyran's, Brias, Elusion, and Percussion. This includes killing the random named dog and Tender on the 1st floor and Sariah on the 2nd floor.
I debuff every encounter, rez when people die, and I'm the only dirge on the raid. This is also includes fights like the fairy drakes that strip all your buffs and chain-pulling the trash. This parse was also before I had enough AAs for Degredate, so my DPS should rise even more in the future.
Dirges and bards in general can do DPS, but it takes a lot of proc gear and skill to achieve it.
