Default Vyemm/Alzid

I don't post here much and couldn't find a whole lot on the search. Is it easier to just fight them both at the same time than screwing around trying to split them up? Trying to split them seems like a PITA and a waste of time.

Seems like everyone just gives up if the split doesn't work when trying to do it that way.

Well, I haven't run Vyemm in a long time.. but to my knowledge it's 10x harder if you don't split them.

With the way the combat's been gimped since EoF, two tanking it is a lot easier than it used to be, but splitting it is just a matter of memwiping Alzid to make him reset.

Word of warning: Last time I did it, changes had been made to the way the chests work, and if you open Vyemm's chest before fighting Alzid, he acts like Vyemm is still alive, and constantly heals himself. You can kill him through that, but you'll end up doing close to 20 million damage before he drops. Best to leave the chest until both are dead.

Use a coercer/tinkered memwipe item on Alzid and have a second tank on standby if they don't work, second tank tags Alzid and keeps him occupied while you burn Vyemm down.

My guild always splits, but that's just down to luck on the memwipes landing I guess

This is Vodoo. Looting the chest has NOTHING to do with Alzid getting bugged and I think they may acctually have fixed this as Alzid hasnt' bugged for us in over 10 runs now mabye more.

We always split them but since we didn't have a coercer until about a month ago what we do is stand on the stairs above Doomsworn Z's room. We have sombody go jump in the pit and punch alzid in the face. Alzid runs for the raid and Vyemm breaks before he gets to the raid, we just have a tank engage alzid and get healed. A pet class runs past alzid, possess a pet and has the pet go kick vyemm in the balls. He calls inc. The tank and healers run up the stairs and break alzid while the conj runs back to the raid. Then the tank grabs vyemm we kill him then go kill alzid at our lesiure.

If you have a Coercer the mem wipe is probably easier this is just how we pulled it off with what we had.

It even seemed broken the last time I was there. I pulled with a 35 meter spell and Vyemm came solo.

We split them again last night with a coercer mem wipe on prime without issue (first pull split was successful, resulting in one dead dragon shortly thereafter). I know we struggled as a guid on this fight for a bit until we got everything right, and as a thank you to those who offered sound advice for us, here’s a few things you might try if your coercer splits aren’t working:

* Adept3 or Master1 Amnesia is a must, this goes without saying.

* Move your coercer to a group that buffs his/her spell casting ability. We’ve had really good results putting our coercer with a warlock for Seal of Dismal Logic (L68 warlock spell), but your group makeups may vary.

* Positioning is important, as is how you actually pull Vyemm. As you probably know, Vyemm likes to run up to you, stop just inside spell range, and AOE the raid. You need to not only prevent this, but also give your coercer a chance to get Amnesia off without worrying about Vyemm nuking him. I’d suggest a plane shifted, vehement gemmed’ Telurian for this task.

Code:
Tank and Conjuror in
this corner here
vv
-----------------------

[]
|            x(coercer)      ======

-----------------------
Raid waits behind pillar near tank, moves under dragon after he arrives. Call the pull, plane shift the pet, gem it, and send it on Vyemm. Leave the pet there until it dies. This is where a lot of people mess up, the conj sees the pet dying and calls the pet back. This is bad. Leave the pet on Vyemm until it dies. This gives your coercer a clear shot at wiping prime as he comes down the narrow stairwell. Rez the coercer. Cast wards/reactives on the tank as the pet goes down. Pet dies, Vyemm charges the conjuror (who happens to be standing beside the tank). Rescue Vyemm, kill, loot box. =)

While it looks complicated, it is really easy after you get it to work the first time. Prime moves fast, as does Vyemm, so make sure everyone is alert and ready for fast moving mobs. Voice communications help a lot here as well.

If you don’t have a conjuror, you can stack shaman wards and/or bolster on a necromancer tank pet and pull the same way. This needs a bit more luck, as the shaman can get ward agro when Vyemm smacks the pet.

*edit - the forum is messing with my diagram, but I think you'll be able to tell what I'm trying to draw.
