I agree. Avatars are definitely the best encounters the game has to offer right now, and the most challenging. For one, I don't understand why 2 can't be up at the same time. Can't it be that the favor of the Gods in Norrath is great enough with several deities?
Now we don't necessarily kill them as soon as they pop, but I can tell very soon it's going to be irritating waiting over a week for another one. I second the motion of having their own spawn timers, or at least their own spawning system, and for it to be possible that more than one avatar can be up at once.

I can't see how it could possibly unbalance the game, or age the expansion prematurely, if they gave people the opportunity to kill an avatar every 2 to 3 days. Either stagger them individually, or do it like Pinski said, either way would work for me.
But EQ2 feels like it's on the verge of an upswing, a veritable renaisannce if you will. It would be a shame to stifle this forward momentum by end game people feeling like they don't have enough to do. Attitudes and interests for all would change if the entire player base was motivated to log on and play more, including both low end and high end players.
For these reasons, it only makes sense to increase the appearance of avatars on servers, and not just by a little, but by a 3x time increase or so.
If you spawn it, they will come!

while I don't have the time to really raid every day and kill contesteds as they pop, I think this game has a sore lack of contested content.
In EoF, all I can think of is Mayong, the crap x2 nameds in Castle Mistmoore, PHH and the Avatars.
Personally, I think there should be (and maybe you guys who dominate your servers will disagree with me) a ton of epics. When I heard about the avatars, I was hoping they'd be 8 different contesteds, each with their own timer, of 5-7 days. That would leave Mayong Mistmoore, 8 Avatars, and PHH for a total of 10 contesteds. What this would do would make it hard for one guild to control all the contested mobs, and if you could pull it if, it would totally prove the badassedness that the people who try to do that want. Even 10 contesteds seems low to me. I don't think they need to share a loot table, or even have the same "tier" of loot, but there really should be a lot of contested mobs with a large variaty of difficulties and items. It should be hard for one guild to control the spawns - it makes the accomplishment worth more if you're a badass guild controlling 15 mobs. Right now, how hard is it really to control the avatars, PHH and Mayong? Would it not be more fun to have to fight over 10-15 mobs?

Another reason they need to get rid of the shared spawns for avatars is because it's getting really old seeing the same avatars spawn over and over again.
