Re: Avatars and 2nd Instances
Can I cry on your shoulder Epitaphe? I'm heart-broken LFG left me and I will never be the same! Seriously, he was cool, but I didn't really know him, he was there for a week, it doesn't matter to me that he left.

are you all pissy because LFG choosed to go back CL because he already knows and have friend there instead of going to Vendetta where he only knew Phov.

The reasons I moved are stated here: The Where's LFG FAQ
I have no problems of any kind with Art or anyone in his guild. To the best of my knowledge, the reverse is true also.
Forum leaders have a feature on their account where they can change their title whenever they want, without the need for my involvement. Art is the leader of the Inquisitor section, so he was able to change his title to what it is now.
Thanks
P.S. Art - if you check the Hall of Flame section of this site, and look through the stickied posts, it will give you the code to make your title bold, or flash on and off, in case you want to make it stand out more.

Then stop publically declaring what is and is not ethical. Using bags instead of boxes, dumping your adornments before the refund, yelling the rumbler, protesting how unfairly Freeport is treated to this.
Multiple avatars in separate instances should never spawn. I thought CL should have taken far more shit for killing it twice but those that matter say otherwise so I'll take their lead. Besides, I have a bit of an ax to grind at the moment so I am biased.

This situation is a known issue, and has been for over a year.

And fixed. The fact that it happened here is either an oversight or they broke it trying to get the avatars to spawn quicker (which we demanded).
Shit happens and your peers aren't saying you shouldn't have killed the multiple spawns. Saying, however, that because it happened it must be ok with SOE is ludicrous. Hell, I could dupe adornments at the start of EoF. Does that mean it was ok cause I could?

So far, this is happening on Oasis. Yeah, we know that nobody gives a fuck about that server, but so far we've had AoW up two days in a row and then a random one that I wasn't paying attention to the next day. Betting another Avatar is up when I log in later. Reminds me of DoF's "Day of Masters" only instead of crappy spells, they get awesome avatar junk.

Since I like you, I'm going to just repost this link, one more time, instead of tearing you to pieces as I did to the person on the previous page:
http://www.eq2flames.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=289
Please let me know if you have any questions about anything I've said in that thread or in this one, after you've read the two together and in context. I'll summarize what I typed in all caps on the previous page for again for you if you need, however, just ask.
Also, to be clear, I was using extreme hypotheticals in the earlier part of this thread to illustrate my points, hence my reply to Ishbu about arguing seriously.

Either something is seriously messed up with EQ2, or Avatars are presently spawning beneath the world on Kithicor.
Enquiring minds want to know.

Re: Avatars and 2nd Instances
I was thinking, I should probably post a single thread explaining, in all caps, that my personal stance and interpretation on what I consider cheating in EQ2 has changed very dramatically since December, and that I no longer have any opinion about whether things on which two reasonable players can disagree constitute cheating or not.
It is SoE's job, not the players, to define what is and isn't cheating. It is our job to play this game without cheating, based on proper direction from SoE in that regard.
At the least, it would make linking a standard response much easier over the next six months as people who don't read everything on this board continue to say "aha, gotcha!" into infinity with respect to something I say in the future, if it is different than something I said in the past.
Hint to everyone: I was always told it while growing up that it was ok to change your mind, or prefer a different ideology or outcome with respect to a matter of concience. Therefore, changing your mind about something, say changing to be a Democrat from a Republican, doesn't make you a hypocrite when you later start advocating Democratic ideology - it just means you changed your mind, and on a going forward basis, see the situation differently than you did in the past.
Nobody is locked into an argument for life once they make it. You can't argue things both ways at the same time, but it is perfectly reasonable to say "while I used to see things that way, I see them this way now instead." That's all I've done regarding my outlook on exploitation and cheating in EQ2.

Re: Avatars and 2nd Instances
Meh. This is just another example of SoE's complete and total lack of foresight. And Hindsight. OK, they're pretty much like a blind person in the middle of a lightless labyrinth, but minus the exit/entrance.

Re: Avatars and 2nd Instances
Everyone is free to change their opinions on things. I respect anyone who is open to other ideas and are willing to change their minds and not so pig headed that they refuse to consider alternate ways of thinking. However, people will always remember things that were said. It happens to politicians every day. It follows them and haunts them for a long time. The problem in LFG's case, is that he was very opinionated about certain views and quick to call out those who opposed him.
