    Default VD: VC: Queen Encounter

So I spent 3 hours last night banging my head against the wall that is the Queen Encounter. We've got T8 Endgame geared 90's with some upgraded 90 gear (charms, etc) I think most are at least 210aa. Group talent was able to sense of urgency clear any TSO zone. Maybe a few minutes beyond that for Palace, but you get my drift. This isn't a pug.

Group makeup was Guard, Temp, Defiler, Illy, Dirge, Warlock (Me)
We one-pulled the snake encounter with no troubles.

However, we could not stay up against the adds. Ever. Even with the buff. Heals couldn't keep up. In fact, we found that with the buff, the heals often wouldn't even work. I saw the tank trickle down and have heals not working at all. I think he had 250k health with the buff on. Also a few times I would be in the pool and the knockback would still go off, but instead it would knock me to the bottom of the pool and then I'd ride the bottom of the pool all the way to the back of the pool and then shoot up in the air pretty high. Kinda strange but I figure that was just glitchty.

When we would mez the adds, the dragon buff would wear off before the encounter is finished due to hitting the adds one at a time. I'm a Warlock, my dps is 15k+ if we don't mez them but we're dead.

However, I kind of get the impression the buff gets placed again if the fight lasts long enough. Is this true? Any other ideas?

I'm throwing my stuns and interrupts, even using rift when the other crap was down, but if we don't keep them mezzed, two heals can't keep the guard up. If we keep the mezzed, we lose the buff and get toasted that way instead.

Varsoon took this group less time to bring down.

Buff is 4 minute duration, refreshed by certain triggers in the encounter. Has nothing to do with fight length.

    Few notes:
    - Wait long enough to get dragon buffs (a few seconds after it lands) before Queen gets to 90% and the first set of adds spawn.
    - Fight adds in the water. I've heard people say have the healers not engage for a few seconds so they don't draw agro and get destroyed -- up to you there.
    - Turn off water walking (only thing I know of that will cause the KB in the water).
    - Kill adds FAST (we averaged ~400k dps while the adds were up include the dragon's DPS buffs). The longer they're up the worse off you are. Like I said last night, stuns are your friend.
    - Heals work but they aren't scaled to the group health at all, so if you're healing 5k hps then it's still gonna take a minute to regen to full health. While the adds are up, they're done ~15k dps on a well geared tank. You can do the math as to who's going to win if they don't die quickly.

To give you a comparable, here's the parse from the last time I ran it (1 healer, no chanter, sounds like we're similarly geared):
    Queen Gwarthlea: DAMAGE --- 47072753 over 07:14 --- 108463
    (45%) Pally: 49587
    (22%) Warlock: 24241
    (18%) Necro: 19652
    (7%) Assassin: 8329
    (4%) Dirge: 4738
    (1%) Mystic: 1916

    Queen Gwarthlea: HEALS --- 1968173 over 07:14 --- 4535
    (61%) Mystic: 2779 (51 cures)
    (20%) Necro: 923 (0 cures)
    (15%) Pally: 714 (12 cures)
    (1%) Dirge: 50 (2 cures)
    (0%) Warlock: 44 (0 cures)
    (0%) Assassin: 21 (1 cures)

    Damage Taken:
    Pally 1372607
    Mystic 261869
    Necro 257815
    Dirge 107012
    Assassin 98539
    Warlock 55026

    Hope this helps!

Make sure your tank gets all the adds' attention, then mez and work em down one by one. All of them beating on one person will kill that person. If they tag anyone else, the buff's proc will likely get them aggro, and then they'll die.

Stuns/mezzes win this fight. It's really the simplest and most reliable way, though I'm sure there are others.
    Koers (90 Enchanter)
    Jiumenos (90 Fury)
    Kronch (90 Berserker)
    Iskisk (80 Mystic)
    Gnomnk (80 Monk)
    Other little nubs.

Yeah. We were on last wave of them and the buff dropped and we dropped in 2 seconds flat.

I'm wondering what causes the buff to refresh? I could've swore on one of the fights we got it back after we lost it.

Our dps is nowhere near that though. I imagine probably because with everything mezzed its all single target burn during the add parts.

Have only done it once, and it was with 2 heals. Sans "add aggro" on pop we had no problems.

A decked out Warden looked like the ideal healer for this encounter. They have a nice AA that prevents damage along with massive direct healing. For Defilers, soulward is an amazing save (w/ buff) if your careful. Wish I could add more but I havent been back since completing the epic quest.
