    Default NEW to EQ2

Okay... I was an original EQ player for 5 years and at some point in the game it got to the point were i felt like it would be too late in the game for someone NEW to start playing it.

After EQ i started playing WoW for a few years and that got boring and now i'm looking for the same high i got when i used to dual box in original EQ

So.... I was wondering if you guys think it's okay to start off new and still would be fun for me to start playing EQ2 now.... in 2010.

    PLEASE be honest lol..

Honestly yes I would say it is fun if you are looking for something different. With all the recent changes to the game leveling is very easy and it wouldnt take very long to get to the level cap. I considered coming back to the game after being gone for over a year but I believe I will hold out and see what FF14 is like. EQ2 is however my favorite current MMO out there and I have played most of them. Of course that is totally opinion based and it really depends what you are looking for.

It is a lot more like WoW than EQ1 if you are trying to compare to something you have played. I would not however say its just like WoW. I played both games from level 1 to end game (80 on EQ2 and 70 on WoW when those were the caps) and have to say they have a lot of differences. Most people like to say EQ2 is stealing from WoW each and every expansion. In some ways I agree with this but in others I don't. An example of this is where people claim EQ2 stole the easy/hard mode idea from WoW when EQ2 actually had this in the game pre DoF. The problem is they didn't add it in correctly and screwed it up where WoW got it right.

Anyway back to the point. EQ2 was never really like EQ1 and always more similar to WoW since release so if you are strickly looking for an EQ1 experience you would have never gotten that out of EQ2.

ahh... alright... i kind of figured as much...

people should remember that WoW wouldn't be WoW if the original EQ wasn't made

every game copies off of the other every once in a while:P

if your going to box, make one account and then refer a friend the other account, you'll have 2 80 toons in about 4 days if you use exp pots. Or 7-8 hours if you play on a exp bonus weekend and use pots and find a high level group to mentor you.
