What the fuck kind of retard statement is that? I was going to say more but I really don't think that should be necessary.

As for the robe, being a wizard who has done DMP more than once, you can bet I had very little interest in it. Its just not that great. Yes, it might be vaguely useful in theory, but unless youre using it to eat an AE, then whatever is threatening you will prolly kill you before you can even reach the button, much less wait for the game to recognize you're wearing it. Of course we can always use bonus equipping lag.

Also, equiping, using an item, remembering to re-equip the old robe as soon as possible, it can all potentially cause you to miss a spell or lose your pattern. I am not so arrogant as to say I am immune to such things. Not to mention for something like that you certainly want a spot on your hotbar and wizards have enough shit as it is.

So something that MAY increase your damage (by an almost insignificant amount anyway), but might even decrease it on all but the most practiced and familiar mobs (where you don't even need it) is not worth the effort of going through DMP. Wards do not appeal wizards. We have a ward, and it sucks, and we hate it, and we distrust all wards and their shitty, shitty ways.

In conclusion, although I love clickies, and I collect them assiduously, this is one of the less desirable clickies and I hoped that it would not drop even though I would have gotten it and we don't have any kind of dkp or whatever that I would suffer for it. If anything it would encourage my suicidal streak to an (even more) unhealthy level. I would consider it on par with say a couple potions, or maybe a stack of drink? I hate having to buy more drink. No fuck that, less than a stack. 10, 10 drinks.

Ok first off, the statement you quoted had nothing to do with the robe. We werent even talking about farming DMP to get the robe, we were simply debating its usefullness. If used correctly, it has its uses, period.

As for the statement you quoted, nobody is taking t7 away from anyone. If you want to play in KoS/EoF for the next year, you are free to do so, and RoK will not stop you from it. Illuminator has somehow gotten the idea in his head that they are going to remove all of t7 from the game when level 80 becomes the new level cap.

There are many people who are not capped in levels and they seem to enjoy the game just fine. If illuminator loves the t7 crap so much, he should join them and play in it until he grows tired of it. For those of us who are already sick of playing in t7, we can move on to t8. The only problem is for those people who would rather bitch about some content turning grey on their main when they level up rather than being proactive and utilizing the content still. Its basically just whining to whine, and thats coming from me of all people so you know its fucking bad.

Yes, and you'll see I agree that it has uses, period. As did Illuminator. I just don't think said uses are very useful.

Illuminator, motivated by his desire to experiance the new content will feel compelled to upgrade to t8. Much as if I pointed a gun to someone's head, motivated by their desire to live, they would be compelled to do what I said.
The only differences being that im doing something much more extreme and in turn am likely demanding something much more extreme.

You seem to be confused in that you believe that Illuminator is expressing a strong desire to have no expansion at all. When in fact, he would like one, with new stuff to do, but without a t8.

This is true, but they either do not play as much or have a much different play style. Also, obviously, most people he cares about in the game are likely to be capped out in levels. Its sort of unrealistic to expect one to get a whole new guild and friends because of some desire to protest t8. Plus I don't think they raid as much.

Well, the first if statement is easy. I suspect he doesn't love it 'so much'.
But enough semantics on my part.

Its clear that you want a t8, and this could be for the reasons opposite to why Illuminator has claimed to not want a t8. He doesn't want it because it trivializes some of what he's accomplished. You must then want it because it does just that, and that makes it more interesting to you (which is clearly important since your primary complaints of t7 relate to boredom). Theres nothing else adding a t8 does that can't be done without it.

Supposing this, then theres no reason you can't simply remake, or make an alt. It accomplishes the same thing. Play the other side or a new race/city, whatever. After all, in this theory there'd be the new expansion with all new content for those levels. The only logical reasons this can not appeal to you is some of the same reasons that staying in the t7 levels when there is t8 would not appeal to someone like Illuminator.

a) You're not likely to get a lot of your friends to do it with you

b) Its not as prestigious (which incidentally, is the cause of a)

I'd also like to note that an assumption in your argument seems to be that he doesn't care what other people on the server think of him or his sucess in the game. Which if dispelled, rather nullifies your argument but would require a direct statement of such by Illuminator, which is obviously unlikely, even though its an unreasonable assumption. Absurd even. How insidious.

Lastly, about whining... do you mean to say that most whining isn't just whining for whining's sake? I would hope that you do not.
