i want contesteds like t5, so dam manys. 4 in ferrot alone(well 2 in ct, 2 outside). was fun trying to hold em down, even newb guilds could grab a few pulls if they were fast. rok just needs lots more. eof sucked for contested, and dof.

The OP is a fucking moron. I'm EST and i can't count the amount of times i've woken up to kill a contested at 1-5am which is a very nice time for PST guild to kill one. Put the effort in, instead of bitching so much about content you can't kill cuz it spawns to late (ROFL) , and it won't feel so shitty.

making t5 all t7 or 8 mobs is just a desperation plea for content. i already killed that shit for months, dont really feel like doing it again. the game is aging and they just arent putting in enough new lasting content. i did the neriak crap twice for a total of 8 hours. huge waste of resourses for something with a small relpay value. IMO contested are the easiest things to make...no new environment just a new mob.

i still cant understand why people are bitching about another tier. If they didnt raise the lvl cap the next expansion would be done in 3 months again, do we want that too?

the nature of contested is that it provides content for the people that are able to make sacrafices/time in a RL schedule to be on and get the kill.
Whether the spawn is at 3 am (means loss of sleep) or 3 pm (means hrm not working or leaving work or playing from work). Its just that folks. a sacrafice.
To make a suggestion to provide an instanced spawn of a contested mob?? WTF???
I have resigned myself to an understanding that even though i want to try to kill a contested that i am unable to why? Not because some meany guild has em on lockdown (those bullies and their L33T gear) its because i am not willing to make the commitment to get the kill, with this knowledge of my own limitations I STFU about contested spawn times and lockdowns. Sony gave us instances so that folks can raid stuff no matter what time they login at. Do the instances and STFU!
Contested are the next level of commitment to the game. For this commitment of time these players are rewarded with the drops that show they are willing to sacrafice the time needed.
MY GOD PEOPLE for those that think everyone should have a shot at contested loot on their perfect time schedule. im gonna call you stupid to your face and berate you for wanting sony to take away the one last carrot that true hardcore players have.

Its point blank simple people. you wanna step up and take down contested? dont blame your guild, dont blame the people around you, and don't blame sony for making em spawn when they do. Blame yourself for not making the changes in those items that are within your control. Put yourself in the posistion to get a shot at the contesteds, get on a waiting list to join one of those guilds that are taking them down believe it or not they do recruit members, if the guilds dont want you then improve yourself so that they will give you a shot when a slot opens up.

Please dont dumb down contested spawn timers or increase their spawn rate If anything get the fuckers off the timers they are on make the bastards completely random. Ya i said it random not this we killed him at x time he will then respawn at x+Y time. See you guys then. BLAH BORING!!!!!

All of this comes from a player that cannot hack the contested shuffle while i may think i got what it takes skill wise, I know that i dont have the ability to commit to the time involved. I admit this shortcoming, i am content with running instances why? cause it fits my time schedule. Perhaps someday i will make the changes and step up to the big leagues and commit the RL time to take em down. But when that time comes im not gonna berate my guildmates, nor berate sony for the system that they have inplace i will make the changes and put myself in the posistion to take em down.

I still to this day haven't killed Coldtooth or Doomsquall, and likely not Grimfeather either. But by the same token they aren't always up. Who kills these mobs?

You know, like every other sport out there in the world -- fair and equitable rules that put everyone on equal playing field....not some stupid spawn timer shit that is only contested *IF* you are agreeable to waking up at some random time on any given day (or log in from work or whatever).

It's a dumb system that actually does not provide any contest whatsoever. Why do you think all the uber guilds have contested locked up on their server? You think its cause there are only 10 guilds (or however many servers there are) that are capable of killing this shit? Of course not! There are probably hundreds of guilds that *COULD* kill the vast majority of the contested...but yet very few do....why is that exactly? It's because the contest has absolutely nothing, let me emphasis this, NOTHING, to do with skill at all. It's a contest of who has more free time...that is all.

That's lame...and that is what needs to be changed.
