I seriously doubt they mod the loot table based on completing the third trial. It just doesn't seem like they would have gone to the effort to do that, and there doesn't seem like any good reason they would have done that.

yeah.. In all honesty I was thinking the same thing, but I heard it from a somewhat reliable source. So I had to at least consider it ;-)

but anyways back to the topic.. out of all the floors the 2nd floor is the one where we want the trash cleared (ie. f'n brownies)
as for the 3rd floor. between the seeds, scales, and even wooden stakes and the fact that it really doesn't take that long to clear. So I imaging it wouldn't kill you guys to just suck it up and clear 1 of the 3 floors completely. Besides if it ends up getting late before you guys get to Wuoshi you can always just pick up where you left off the next days.

You heard wrong. Woushi always drops a recipe book. What someone might have meant is it that it greatly reduces your chance of getting Woushi Scales. Reason being that the trial removes the 3rd floor tree's which can drop them. A decent amount of the remaining mobs are ones from the first floor so they drop seeds and not scales.
