GH good idea but they will lead to empty cities and give the game a very under populated feel.

City's are already under populated, people go there for very few reasons, the broker and that's it.

have portals you can quest for to go to a couple places in the world, but make it more random, like, the top of EF, the CL zone in in nektulos, and one kos and one eof. And a call people can cast to get to their halls.

No brokers, like cal said, the cities are dead as is

as for location - Lyndro kept mentioning CL and Antonica.

If there is no gate type spell for guild houses then I would recommend them being in a more accesible location for all players such as Thundering Steppes and Nektulos Forest along the water/near the docks.

As for ideas inside the instanced guild house. Maybe have multiple guild houses in one instance(5 or so max due to space limitation). Have all the event type things outside(such ideas brought up like the arena, chess, something to do with the card game, etc) and then the different rooms in each of the guild houses where only the guild that owns the house has access to different features of it. So say theres 5 houses total, one is your guilds. Only your guild may place/move around trophies, house items etc. A broker/bank etc in each house etc. This way all the guild stuff can be displayed inside the actual houses and multiple guilds can compete in whatever events there are out in an open area.

If a guild becomes inactive there could be some sort of voting system between the active guilds to move them to a sort of inactive instance. If that guild becomes active again they can apply/move into other instances. Something along those lines so that the event type features can be a bit more active.

Outer appearences of the guild houses should be somewhat customizeable beyond guild flag(same as guild cloak) so that way its not just 5 copy pasted houses with a different flag on each.

I know this idea is a bit beyond the original but this way if you do add event type features there will be more people to do it with. Otherwise they would be often unused unless Guild_X House becomes the place to hang out at, being different on each server.

Maybee for PvP you can lay siege to another guild's Guild Hall and can loot a % of what they have in it, if you breach thier walls. Give carpenters new recipes like catapult to aid in guild hall sieges. It would open up a whole new aspect to the game. Just a thought but I think it would be cool.

I always thought trophy rooms would be a good idea, but I wouldn't limit it to server firsts as another mentioned. I envision possibly multiple rooms, with extravagant/adjustable lighting accentuating the head mounts. Furthermore, upon entering the trophy rooms, there would be empty plaques with the names of the x2/x4 encounters on the wall already. It would be up to your guild to try and fill them all. Rooms could be separated by Epic Encounter type. There could be a room with just dragons, another with various beasts, etc. I'm thinking rooms such as the dragon room would be massive, allowing at least one full bodied mount of your choice to be displayed. Same with the beast or other rooms. Something along the lines of a museum would be interesting also. Maybe even live mounts could be kept with massive beasts chained to the walls or behind glass display cases. Anyways, I see this as a cool guild status building opportunity. Guild halls should of course be visit'able by others. I wouldn't go as far as having the guild halls outdoors. This might start to seriously lag stuff out depending on what type of features these halls have.

I would be all for allowing the guild halls to have amenities such as guild banks and brokers but, as it stands now, the cities are a bit empty. And, if they placed too much in the halls NOBODY would go to the cities anymore. So, either they place these services in the guild halls and create other dependencies in the cities or they maybe put just the broker or just the bank. Maybe they could place JUST the guild bank in the guild hall, leaving the personal banks in the cities.

in DaoC you could purchase brokers and bankers for you apartments and guild halls and only certain levels of guilds had access to those. They could place limitations on them so only the most affluent guilds would be able to acquire personal bankers and brokers for their guild houses.

How about a hot babes room? I'm sure most of the hot babes would have to be imported.

I have been in some peoples housing that is laggy as hell so lag free guild halls would be nice too.
