Default Excited about EoF contested?

How about low level ones? Should EoF have only T7 raid mobs or should it provide raids for all teirs?

IMO, EQ2 doesn't need lower level raid mobs. If it does, there are already plenty in game.

I think that because they are marketing it as an expansion for players 1-70, that they should be providing raid content (contested AND instanced) for all tiers. But they should be paying particular attention to t7. If it were me, I'd do this:

2 (2 x2) Instance, 1 (1 x2) Contested: T3

2 (2 x2) Instance, 1 (1 x2) Contested: T4

4 (3 x4, 1 x2) Instance, 3 (1 x4, 1 x3, 1 x2) Contested: T5

4 (3 x4, 1 x2) Instance, 5 (3 x4, 1 x3, 1 x2) Contested: T6

5 (4 x4, 1 x2) Instance, 15 (7 x4, 3 x3, 5 x2) Contested: T7

Spread across EoF.

IMO they should be instances on par with SoTL and Pedestal of Sky. None of the extremely shitty timesinks and follies of the T6 and T7 brand. Maybe this isn't possible. If I knew anything about MMO design I'd shoot for T5, because I think most all players can agree that T5 was the best, ever.

Bah LFG got in before me. I disagree with you LFG. I think there should be contested across all tiers to train players as they level up. Although, the arguement could be made that very little new players are levelling up now and therefore any new t1-t6 raid content would be pointless, because everyone's trying to get only to the end game.

I think that more mid-tier contested and instances would appease those who play more casually then you or I (well, I used to) play. I hate hearing complaining about there not being enough content or raid opportunities for the casual player (I know, I know, casual and raid do not really belong in the same sentence), so I figure, hey fuck why not give them something to calm down.

EDIT: Fixed a period problem. Shit!

Why would anyone waste their time? Fuck training in all its well-meaning but contorted forms. Throw em in the pool with their shirt on and see if they swim.

I still to this fucking day have not joined a raid that fought a conned Grimfeather or Doomsquall (do they exist? I can't find one). Apparently a lot of players really give a flying fuck about training on meaningless raid mobs. Fuck the tier spread, put the shit in T7. The people who want it know where to find it. You begin your training when you hit level cap, just like everyone else. Nobody is special.

I'm tired of sitting LFG with my thumb up my ass because there's already too many fucking tiers that they gotta provide content for.

It only takes a month for a seriously motivated person to level to 70, and up to two months doing it more casually. The intermediate levels are not stopping points, they are places to level through IMO. If there are more end game encounters rather than lower level encounters, everyone will have more to do for the 4+ months at the end of each expansion after they've killed everything in game and now have to kill it again once a week until new content is released.

There are sufficient lower tier raid encounters in game now to serve as "raid training" for anyone who wants to take a year to get level 70 for whatever reason.

Adding more lower level exp zones is also completely silly. The existing ones are unused as it is. Why add in more to spread out an already low level population even further? No, it's best to add more at the top end, that's where the game is.

If that were true, that there were only 3 new T7 encounters/mobs for EoF, EQ2 would die faster than a moth on a bug zapper. They could not possibly be that stupid, I just don't believe that's true.

Seriously, amen. The purpose of lower level raid content is to two box with mentored toons so you can gear up your alts with loot you don't really need.

Anyone attempting to play EQ2 is leveling through this content quickly enough that they could never get any real use out of the drops anyway.

I guess my point to all that was to try and add something to those who keep complaining (this is purely from the SoE boards, mind you) about the lack of raid targets and opportunities for sub-70 toons. Now, you and I both know that the endgame is where it's at, there's no question of that. I'm merely stating that there be should be other content added to shut those folks up.

The funny thing, I think, would be that even if their problems were appeased, they'd still complain that the endgamers got the better end of the deal. At that point, all I would be able to say is "shut the fuck up".
